BenQ G2420HDBL (LED Backlit) or BenQ G2420HD

Just a couple of things to bare in mind:

The optimal settings differ significantly between panels and recailbration every few months is also recommended. Since it is a TN panel, the use of such precise calibration is questionable.

A good colorimeter and software package costs about twice as much as the monitor, too.

Why are you still buying this monitor when BenQ have released the V2410T? It is the exact same panel but it doesn't have the annoying glossy bezel and it has a fully adjustable stand. Perhaps the ultimate budget TN panel. I should think OCUK will be getting some stock at some point but they are currently behind their competitors :(

darn - i got mine last week and i could really have done with the adjustable stand as i have a very long back. Its currently sitting on a book!

ive got the BenQ G2420HDBL (LED Backlit)

the design look great

its LED

its great

thing is...if you need no HDMI port...but to me thats not a problem =) since i dont really need it for anything xD

Just out of interest. Which other brands monitors are competitiors or more or less have same specs as the BenQG2420HDBL? Are there any monitors which have better specs than the BenQG2420HDBL in 24" size?

It's almost Pay Day - I'm torn between the BenQ G2420HDBL & the BenQ V2410T.
I really like the design of the G2420HDBL, but know that I will really miss the adjustable height that I have with my current Samsung monitor. I also wish that ocuk had the V2410T in stock.

Hi BTW...

After a few months of talking myself out of buying this monitor I cracked and ordered 2 of them to replace my aging 19 sammy and 17 screens.

Must say i love them, but ive ran out of room on my desk now and one is wall mounted!

Only tip i can give is feed them with DVI as my second one is currently on vga and i can tell the difference with the same image on both at the same time. Ordered a 3 meter DVI lead last night.

Pc does like crysis at max now tho = even more money to be spend in the comming month.

I agree, luckily i had a handy DVI lead as well as a HDMI-DVI lead laying around to connect them both up that way, but when i tried one on VGA it certainly looked far less crisp!

maybe it's the case with the LED version only becuase on my none LED (BenQ G2420HDBE) the image quality through vga & dvi look identical . :)

Got one sitting right next to me here waiting to be installed. :) Will set it up tonight sometime!

Upgrading from a Samsung SM226BW which has produced the flickering/bad power cap fault.:( Going to RMA that and once I get it back i'll sell it on.

sorry meant my pc DOESNT like crysis now.

It might be the led one, or maybe i am using a long vga lead for the second monitor but i get 3 shadows around windowed apps. hoping it is the lead because if its the monitor i have a faulty one. \but im feeling confident its that.

Also the weight of them is great too, much lighter then any of my old monitors and these things are twice as big.

still playing with the settings to get it to my taste.

So what is better to get, the G2420HDBL with the 2ms response time(g2g), or the G2420HD non-LED version with the AMA but a 5ms response time?

The HDMI is useful to me as I already have the cable (was using it on my TV as a monitor), but can easily get a DVI convertion.

Just want the better picture for games and general desktop use, but don't know what is better to get out of the two.

Get paid in a few days so will be buying it then, has taken ages to narrow it down to these two, any one help please?

Cheers.

vga and dvi will look different until you run the auto adjustment on the monitor to align the display properly.

Vga properly setup isnt much worse than dvi at all.

If i were to hook a 360 to this monitor how would i go about getting the sound to work?

Someone give a link to what i need to buy off ebay please...
