BenQ G2420HDBL (LED Backlit) or BenQ G2420HD

Recieved my led version today, no dead pixels but im seeing a hint of green to my picture from the top and gets lighter as it goes down and white looks more normal from mid screen down, should i have this sent back?, nice monitor but thats really caught my eye and not so happy with my purchase now. any settings i can tweak to fix it, will it just need time to settle in and colour will go to normal?.

everythings ok now, found undesirables settings he used on page 9 and has solved my hint of green issues, colours looking normal from top to bottom.

I was going to get this but no hdmi and bad quality if using vga put me off as I'd need the dvi for a ps3 shame this doesn't have an hdmi in.

So I've noticed that the middle of screen is a little brighter than the sides especially the top left. It's definitely not the viewing angle. Is this normal?

I think you should scrub this from your list I am in the same position as you pc/ps3 mainly gaming / video but this has no hdmi and the vga isn't all that.

My 24" LED Arrived a couple days ago. When hooked up through VGA The quality is terrible, DVI Is another story though. Chrisp and responsive and very vibrant. Got my 5870 hooked up via HDMI -> DVI Adapter and it takes all of about 3 seconds to swap the HDMI in the Adapter for my xbox's so i don't find it an issue myself. I would recommend it for the price but if you can't be bothered to reach around and swap 1 cable which takes at most 3 seconds then don't bother.

my led is needing replaced, thought i was happy with it after setting standard mode with settings from another forum member, but had i tunes playing and some letters have a yellow bleeding around the black of the letters, and when setting it into game photo or movie mode the picture has a green tint to it and gets weaker the further down screen you look, lots of others seem very happy with theirs so I'm guessing mine is faulty.

that right there then makes this monitor utterly useless to anyone needing more than one thing connected to it then, whys the vga so bad ?

Visible scan lines and inferior colours. Through DVI or HDMI its fine. I've just bought a HDMI switch box at a local electronics store for about £10 so i still consider this monitor an absolute steal

I've bit my lip for too long.

I actually came to this thread to cancel my notifications as I am sick of them popping up.

But I just have to leave saying my bit even though it is against the majority.

I spent over £1,000 on my build and this monitor was the weak link. It was terrible. I can't understand how anyone could think it is of any use what-so-ever.

I found the colours to be washed out completely.

The brightness to be far too bright and no way to get it down to a manageable level without effecting the quality of the picture.

It almost makes your eyes bleed and after even a little amount of time the eye strain kicks in so bad.

The field of view was so narrow that just bopping your head ever-so-slightly up-n-down would completely distort the color of the screen.

It was a horrible monitor and I was very lucky to pass it on to someone else and get most my cash back.

Even my old AOC LM919 monitors I found more natural and better.

I was so disgusted that I vowed never to touch an LED monitor again (as they wash out colours and are too bright/high contrast) and instead I got some extra money put together and bought a DELL U2410 monitor which I simply adore.

This is just my opinion and I understand it goes against the majority. But seriously I couldn't hold my tounge any longer. I must just have more sensitive eyes or something. I dunno. All I know is a couldn't stomach the picture quality even after 2 months trying to get used to it.

To those 'pondering' about buying the Benq G2420HDBL ................just get 1.

It IS HDCP compliant, no ghosting, great picture / colour & DVI = HDMI without sound & if you really want to connect a console get an adapter.

My 260GTX outputs to this no problem & to my 52" Sammy, gotta say MW2 on 52" @ 1920x1080 is very nice.

Makes me laught i must admit how people cannot decide for themselves, everyone's expectations & needs of goods is different, if it was crap & i said it was great would you still buy it ?

xe-cute maybe you should try calibrating it for your needs first before posting your comments, it takes couple seconds to adjust height so 'field of view' is v good, colours ARE sharp & yes brightness out of the box IS set too high but with a little adjustment it's fine, NO eye strain (maybe you should go to specsavers?)

Right as this is on 'this week only' now is my time to upgrade from a 19" monitor at last. Is this still a good choice of monitor (the LED version)? Will be connected by DVI to my pc but vga to my xbox 360. Heard mixed thoughts about this but if its that bad i will keep my 19" to use for 360 so not too fussed.

Mainly just is this the best choice right now for the price to use with my PC? If so will order tomorrow!
