*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

I don't see what the big panic is, everyone that has bought the iPhone 4 has atleast a 1-year warranty so if you do have the antenna problem then just wait it out a few weeks and get a replacement.

Despite what some of the clear Apple haters say in this thread it's still the best phone ever released.
To be fair, that is quite the reality-distorted-fanboy comment :o

You have parted with (or signed up to part with) £500 for a phone - and just by touching it, you hamper its fundamental capabilities.

I know I am not fine with it.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand here we go again. Thread.Closure.Imminent.

Can we not have one of these threads without it degenerating into people calling people fanboys?

Ah I see your dilemma now.
Had a little look round t'interweb and may have thought of a solution.

Sync your iPod with all app the data you want on your phone to iTunes.
Then, sync your phone but 'only' sync the apps.

So only tick Apps then re-sync the iphone.
Once that sync is complete, i shall re-sync the items i took off , i.e. music, cal, contacts.

Will try, much appropriated dude.

Mine went through overnight.

At home the effect of the antenna problem was minimal. Completely shielding the iPhone lost about two bars. (From a full 3G signal).
At work the effect of the antenna problem is massive. Touching the LHS and the RHS at the same time (not even the bottom) brings it right down to nothing, from a nearly full EDGE signal.

It seems to come down to how strong the signal is in whatever area you're testing in.

Some perspective-ish - http://www.macrumors.com/2010/06/24/other-mobile-phones-with-similar-signal-loss-issues/

but I was stating that who's to say we might see a fix soon or a recall?

Well i think Jobs comment that said something along the lines of 'your holding it wrong' probably means there wont be a fix...i personally think its a bit rich of him saying that as i feel thats a massive middle finger to all you apple fanboi's especially the nuts who qued for hrs on end to get one yesterday.

Although i do hope im wrong and the attennae issue is fixed or rectified but i have a feeling it wont be till the next model comes out next year.

How is it a fan-boy comment?

Gosh you really need to open your eyes and think before you post.

I will type it in capitals in case it helps WHO IS TO SAY WE WON'T SEE A FIX TO THE ANTENNA ISSUES?

I have never said I am fine with the issue!!!!!!

Please read my posts carefully in future before calling me a fan-boy. Thanks.

Excuse me? Be quiet you troll, you have done nothing in here but belittle the iPhone and Apple. You sound like a broken record.

Try re-reading my post before calling me a fan boy, you silly child.

I am unhappy as the rest with the reception issues, but I was stating that who's to say we might see a fix soon or a recall?

I'm a troll? I'm actually ordering an iPhone 4 so clearly I hate Apple and the iPhone.

The statement from Apple would imply we will not see a fix or a recall, can't you read?

You must be the biggest Apple superfan on here :)

Do you have posters of Steve Jobs on your wall and everything?

Successfully bought an iPhone 4 contract from Tesco Mobile over the phone at 8:30 this morning after a 30min queue. Order confirmation, mobile number and IMEI allocated, next day delivery.

According to some people on MacRumors, Tesco have cocked up and are cancelling orders made this morning. So far I haven't had a call to tell me what's going on.

My O2 simplicity contract runs out tomorrow, was hoping to have cancelled it by this afternoon.

Anyone upgrading also moving numbers? How quickly to PACs come through? Do they remain active if you cancel the account with that number?

Think im going to get the Iphone 4 on tesco 16GB on the £20/month contract.

Damn you vodafone! Didn't send me a micro-sim! HOWEVER, BURNED it to the store in Romford and got one :D

Now activated straight away and syncing :D :D :D

Thats an interesting link but funnily enough on my BB9700 no matter how i hold it i dont lose signal...at the moment i have full 5 bars 3G reception and it doesnt fluctuate whether i hold it or leave it on my desk.

Indeed. Seems to be some phones either cope better, or they report the signal differently to compensate. Wouldn't put that past 'em.

It may have been discussed, but didn't we have a similar thing when the 3G launched? I seem to remember an OS update to change how the reception was reported as it kept fluctuating constantly. Similar (but exacerbated by the silly antennae) issue perhaps?
