*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Applecare are kinda admitting error and are 'giving' out bumpers for free, my GF just been on the phone and managed to nap a free black bumper (only colour left in stock apparently).

Yeh i was thinking of giving them a call as well. Any idea what the number is? I'm at work at the mo and can't find a number on the Apple Support apart from the order line for Apple Care.

EDIT: found it! I'm an idiot.

Anyone know where I setup the data network info?? on the old one it was in the cell datanetwork options but can't see this

Got my iPhone 4 today!

No cuing involved walked in couple of questions payed and walked out :)

Not sure the bumper was really worth the £ though.

Well got the ip4 today as UPS delivered late , and i can say i am more than happy with it , the biggest difference is the camera to me and the moment and the video recording both of which i think is an amazing leap up from the 3gs , also the screen is to die for.
It is SOO clear and sharp , it makes my ipad screen look dull !
Viewing angle is amazing to you can look clean across the screen level with the phone and still see the screen

Guys, our O2 Microsim hasn't activated yet. I know the website states 24hrs but it's been 22 now

The old phone is switched off and I've rebooted the iPhone. Just removed and reinserted the sim but still nothing.

Any ideas?

Mine isn't done yet either but I found out it was because the idiot in the O2 shop gave me a pay monthly Msim instead of a PAYG one. Therefore, I was waiting for it to activate and it never did. O2 rang me and said they have put one in the post for me.

My mate however, cut up a normal O2 PAYG sim down to a Msim and it works, so I have just transferred my number over to that sim instead. 2 hrs and still waiting for my number to transfer over...

You can spin it however you want, much like eternal_fantasy has in choosing to ignore the issue and pay more and more to make the phone usable.

People need to start holding their hands up about this phone which is clearly flawed. I do not believe for one second any sane person would declare this a 'non-issue'.

Laughable, it really is.
Actually no, I'm not "choosing to ignore the issue and pay more and more to make the phone usable." In the first line of my post I mentioned I bought the bumper for the phone protection, before all hell about the reception broke loose. But that would not stop a hater from hating!

So why the hate? You and many like you already mentioned your distaste for the iPhone's reception issues many pages back, and I am posting saying that I happen to have bought the bumper anyway, so there were no issue for me in the first place. I call it good investment, you call it spin. I choose to address the issue for people that didn't happen to buy the bumper, you call it ignoring the issue. Okay, I can accept that a one off cost of £25 as "pay more and more" heat of the moment misjudgement typo. Or for the effect, you drama queen. :D

As I mentioned earlier, you have made your point very clear multiple times already. I am obviously happy with my purchase, as are many more in this thread. So why are you trying to convince us that we should fess up and flat out declare that we have a faulty device? Is this a sleep at night issue? I'd really like to know the mentality behind this. :)

£25

Glorified rubber band

No dice

Would you pay £100 for a 'sleak' looking tax disc holder because your car is worth £10,000? It is only 0.1% of the cost.

Now that's the definition of posting before reading. Yeah, why not just ignore my argument and post an exaggerated metaphor for effect!! :D

Well eternal_fantasy, I'm not really a 'hater'. Considering I still want to buy one of these phones myself?

I just think the reception issues are not a 'blown out of proportion' thing as many people are stating. It is simply not good enough.

Its good you are still happy with using your bumper and so forth, but that doesn't change anything unfortunately. Many people do not want to use one/will refuse to use one due to the situation.

Clearly I'm a drama queen, I wish I had £500/600 to throw around without pause for thought like you do.

Oh, just to add, I am impressed with the camera from those pictures above, lovely dog too.
