*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

its not locked mate its Sim free from apple and a Pay and Go sim

If your calls, data, sms etc are all working without you ever having to put in any settings, then the iPhone would have downloaded the settings through iTunes and applied them. The Orange carrier file would have disabled this pane I think, just like a normal PAYG or contract Orange iPhone.

Same here Spawn, I've spoken to Orange earlier and they are getting the 32GB models in hopefully in 4 days time, and then some more a couple of days later.

You can't actually reserve one until Monday and they are calling me up then :(

Still, gives me time to try one for the signal issue at the local shops over the weekend :p Provided it remains with some service I'll get one, not impressed by that at all though, total farce from Apple!

Hmmm problem is that i dont really want to get one through a network...planning to use it with my tmobile spare sim that i have...signal should be ok as i usually get good signal at home and at work....i did have a play with one in regent st and it did have the reception issue but like Feek earlier illustrated just holding the phone differently allieviates the problem somewhat...although i dont feel you should have to change your grip on the phone to make it work as its supposed to.

But if worst comes to worst ill just take it back to apple and either get them to replace it or get my money back...but on the other hand i might as well order it from apple direct...wait the 3 weeks and hopefully maybe apple will have rectified the issue??...its a longshot and im an impatient bugger but i might just do that if i cant get hold of one this weekend.

One thing that Apple have continued to overlook....? The blooming camera, if trying to take a picture with your missis or so on, how hard is it to try guess where the capture button is? Surely they could have configured a volume key to do the job or something.

Thought I'd just drop this in here of my iPhone 4 with Apple Bumper;

More in the accessory thread!

The screen is stunning. Look at the contacts app icon, you can clearly see A B C D E F down the right hand side. It's just blurry dots on the 3GS.

Dnt u have 24 hrs to pick it up?

Went in yesterday at 5pm and the queue was about 60 strong, spoke to the manager and he said he would hold it until close of business today for me. Just been and picked it up now, no queue at all but it took ages to process, the registers are so slow.

Undecided whether to keep or sell.

Only problem is where the hell am i going to find one around the london area...i dont want to buy it network locked but apple website saying 3 weeks for delivery which is stupid really as im not going to wait that long:p.

I was told in the queue at regent street (by a blue shirt apple person) that the sim free iphones are just that 'sim free', but once you insert a sim, it locks to the network and you're at them mercy of the network as to whether you can unlock it.

now, she took about 5 minutes to explain this, and i'm not sure how convinced i am by her to be honest, but my be worth checking.

One infuriating thing for me signing up as a new vodafone customer, you can only port your number at point of signing contract, so ended up with a new number :(

That bumper looks naff!

I prefer the metal sides, more stylish.

Let's hope for a fix, I'd prefer not having to spent over 30euro for a peice of rubber which ruins the style the phone was designed and praised for.
