*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

That's a quick 30 second pan around that I took this morning, unedited.

Bonus points if anyone can tell me where it was taken.

Here's a pair of stills (resized) in the same location.

Hand-related reception issues aside, the iPhone 4 has far far better signal reception than my old 3g ever did. More bars plus more consistent and faster 3g than ever before.

I can get the reception to drop by covering the bottom-left corner but it takes quite a long time for the bars to start dropping and even then I only ever seem to lose two.

Help!! Just opened the multitask browser and held my finger on an app icon to clsoe, then noticed it said I had loads of stuff open so I set about closnig them all. I was left with three apps still open (Gun Range game, Calendar and Settings) and I tried to clsoe one of them and nothing happened, the icons just stayed jiggling. So I tried to close the multitask browser and it wouldn't.

I then discovered nothing worked, home button, volume buttons, sleep button at the top etc! After 1 minute the screen went blank as per usual but now it wnot cmoe back on...!

I'm at work so can't try and connect back to my computer or anything :(

Might wanna change your sig mate, your site clearly has your referrals on it, tut :p

LOL!

But yehh I think its great :). Just need to get a good permanent case for it now. Currently have a cheap shell case and wallet from ebay costing about £5 altogether inc. p&p. However I want Zaggs (front & back) with a Black bumper, but that'll set me back nearly £48 altogether inc. p&p!?!

Tried the usual trick of holding power and home buttons together for a good 30 seconds or so? That should force a shutdown and you can restart.

Thomas. PLease. - Nope.

Space Cowboy - Yes! Well spotted :)

I will cry tears of joy if Apple are able to fix the reception issue through software :p

And then I shall dry my eyes - return to the forums - and slam it in everyones face that I still hold the worlds greatest smartphone in my hands

*Runs from the forums* :p

Friend of mine was complaining of poor quality photos after I stated that the new camera was amongst the best I've seen on a phone. She then realised the clear backing was still on the back of her phone :o

Sure is :( I also want a sturdy car mount + charger as well at some point so whack another £35ish on as well (i know you can get cheaper/inferior). Ouch. Add those accessories up and it costs more than my dad's phone! :p

How are people finding the battery life on the 4?

Took it off charge this morning, not really been doing that much. Down to 82% by midday. I turned off auto brightness and set it to about 40%.

Worth closing all the apps in the background?

I received mine at my door at around 11am on launch day, and haven't charged it since. It's now on 18%. That's pretty damn impressive.

Yesterday I had got these stats before putting it back on charge at 15% power:

Usage 6hr 47mins
Standby 12hr 51mins

That was with sending about 100 or so texts, making about 25 mins of phone calls and lots of playing about with various apps and online etc. Plus this morning I discovered I had about 15 apps running in the background according to the multitask menu, lol. All closed now though.

Didn't have an iPhone before this so can't compare.

I'm finding it much better to be honest. The majority of apps aren't really background apps, they're just saved states so they wont run your battery down. Thats what Apple mean by doing it 'right' ;). It's miles better than the desire (its battery consumption is currently a joke), but that may be sorted in 2.2.
