Top Gear returns on Sunday 27th June at 8pm

I've finally lost all faith in Top Gear. Having Barrichello drive a family saloon around a track to compete against other F1 Drivers = good car show. Using the premise of a Muscle Car comparison as a thinly veiled excuse to hoon a £40k Camaro and a £73k Merc Saloon on the track = nonsense. In no way could they be compared to eachother reasonably and they didn't even review either properly.

Rubbish TV.

What about the 4 door saloon comparison? those cars were so match two of them finished the speed test in a dead heat (0.6 seconds is small enough to be down to reaction time with the stopwatch)

No seatbelt on the bride!
She was in the back and over 14, so her choice if she wore it or not

And out come all the whiney little *****!

Why do you bother watching it?

I enjoyed the episode, it was some good fun in nice cars. Can't believe Barrichello was faster than The Stig. I hope he has another go in the car soon to see if he can beat him.

Usually love Top Gear but last nights episode really wasnt too good.

Still better than most of the carp that the wife has me watching every night.

I still love top gear but it seems a little thing on the features, probably due to lack of budget or something but it's still better than fifth gear.

I do usually enjoy watching Top Gear, but you only need to watch several repeats on Dave to realise that they are nursing a very repetitive formula that involves driving overly expensive cars sideways around a track over and over again. There are definitely still entertaining aspects to the show in the bigger features and guests they have on but when it comes to 'reviews' it would be nice for them to go into a bit more depth from time to time rather than just going 'powahhhhh!!!' and power sliding around corners and subsequently comparing lap times.

What do you hope from a review of a Porsche Panamera for example? I mean other than seeing it being hammered sideways and raced around with some really nice camera work and giggles?

If you are interested in buying one, and therefore would like to know the ins and outs of the practicalities, then there are special buildings housing these cars. You can then drive one yourself and look over it to your hearts content. These are called Offical Porsche Centres.

An in depth review would tell us nothing and be very boring to watch.

So unless you want to buy one you should show no interest in expanding your knowledge about the car, can we extrapolate this new rule and apply it to everything in life?

I'm never going to go to the moon on Apollo 13 so my time looking around the rocket and learning about it was wasted, i feel like i've been done :(

I know exactly what you mean, the older episodes were a lot better, but the last two episodes of this series have shown improvement on that front I think, they were certainly more enjoyable. Hopefully they've been listening to the criticisms and are bringing it back in line to the best and most appealing formula before people tire of it completely.

We got a glimpse of his hair as he turned around in the lift, definitely not Barrichello as his is somewhat "thin" :D

Noticed that too..hmmmm.

The old episodes I have seen on Dave all seem to be about Clarkson driving the cars fast/sideways around a track saying random things about them and the other two used as stooges in the studio.

Yeah, that's why they should go back to the older ones that they don't even show on Dave anymore! The ones I've seen whilst flicking past Dave are mostly newer.

If it makes you feel any better, nobody went to the moon on Apollo 13 :D

And what point do you think more in-depth reviews would serve?

So that we can all marvel at the MPG? Or maybe the boot space?

With a mere ninety brake-horse-power available, progress is too leisurely to be called fast, but on the motorway in fifth gear the Megane’s slow pace really becomes a pain. Uphill runs become power-sappingly mundane, while overtaking National Express coaches can become a long, drawn-out affair.

That'd be rivteing telly.
