a)the country hasn't said so
B) democracy has to protect the minority and as such have strict rules in place to make law
C) just because something is law does not make it good or necessary

A) The MPs represent the country (thats the peope we vote in)
B) If Parlement vote yes to ban covering faces then its law, end of.
C) You are quite right, "Human rights act" for one.

No boo hoo pal, there's nothing else to say which hasn't been said already.

Stop whining that I won't answer your questions when I've already told you why - I've been told not to by the mods. If you doubt that, ask them yourself as I've suggested. But for the love of god stop moaning.

No you said you had one minute it was an impression you had, then the next you are banned on starting muslim threads.

Which is it DD?

Past discussions with a few mods have given me that impression and I respect that.

You see those operative words there?

Stop moaning, your the one who jumped back in mate.

Neither am I whining, your the nancy acting girl getting her knickers in a twist because you are shallow, and know it, and have no argument of depth.

Again, the onus is on you. You can't say i have a magic solution but can't tell you, unless it really is a final solution.

Then I have proved my case.

I do not agree either, and for other political reasons;Jacobitism.

Are you taking into consideration the Queens obligation on coronation and her agreement to;

"Will you to the utmost of your power maintain in the United Kingdom the Protestant Reformed Religion established by law?"

For you see, and few understand, allowing her politicians to abolish the Act of Settlement our crown would be undermining the very thing modern day consitutional Britiain is built on.

Every time a politician goes to the Queen to ask, they are simply told no you can't.

Nothing will change.

Not until Elizabeth dies anyway.

True. It is a tricky and complicated situation to be in.

I'd ban the ones that completely obscure the face from view preventing identification, which obviously as mentioned before is a security issue.

No, in my mind its a pretty dead cert. It is very very unlikely to change, not in our generation. Maybe not even the next.

They would be removing a constitutional pilar of Britain.

Westminster was built on racism if you want to take a broad spectrum view of it.

I don't even understand how the veil affects most of you. Like I said, I live in east london and I hardly ever see a veiled lady and this is in an area where white people are a minority. I find it hard to believe how veiled women can have such a massive effect on most of you guys, especially those who live in extreme muslim minority areas.

Would like to see a reply to this....

That is very much chicken and egg, what is your experience of them not trying?

Go have a trip to Brum and see for yourself, there are areas I would not go near at night.

Those that do "join in" are fantastic people, far nicer that the Chavs we have.

But there are still many that do not want to be a part of England and want to live it like there own little eaststan.

I don't care how it affects me, I care about how it affects the women wearing it. Too many are oppressed by it. Ban it - end of. You must be pretty daft if you think many willingly put it on. They'd much rather not. The popularity of hijabs (open face veils) in areas where burqas aren't the minimum required of women proves this.

How does that stop oppression, it will not change anything, they are not all oppressed many wear it by choice.
Why do people think these laws are acceptable, can we please go back to law making which actually tackles the issue without impeding freedoms.
