What about the fact that i dont have a right to DENIE them from circumsizing me.

That is OPPRESSION!!! They chop my carrot at birth and i have no choice in the matter.

Now this, piercing and tattooing I would like to see banned for kids. Until they can decide for themselfs.

Its always been the full face one (to me) thats the problem

But yes if a woman does not want to wear one, she should have a choice

That's not a reason.

I'm glad I got circumcised as a baby. I would want to be circumcised but I would probably chicken out.

I have a friend who got circumcised when he was 16 and he says it hurt like ****ing hell.

Why are you repeating yourself?

That is not a reason.

Why can you not give one rational reason as to why you think full face veils are a problem?

Try and drive a car with one on (not that I have tried)
This society does not accept it (that the society that been here for 100s of years not just 60 years

You can see fine.
Put your fingers round your eyes, it does not affect your vision, it is to close to your face.

That's funny, we are part of the society and we accept it and can I have this evidence that people from 100's of years ago want it banned.

Yet again, neither are valid reasons.

Each to their own I say. As long as no-one is breaking any laws or harming anyone else I cannot see any good reason why women can't wear whatever they like. Including veils.

The only law that should be introduced with regard to veils is one to protect those who wish to wear one or not. Under no circumstances should a woman be forced to wear one if she doesn't wish to.

I think they should allow veils that cover the entire face if they are herendously ugly

Jokes aside

The face should be shown when at airports, banks etc. - anything that could be a security risk.

They also need to be taken off when requested i.e. in Conversations, at worke tc. - this is simply because of the fact that talking to someone without a face is very similar to talking to a brick wall with no expression.. who would want to talk to something with no expression? I for one think it is disrespectful to talk to someone face to face whilst hiding your face...

Hmmm.

I don't think you could enforce that. Not in public anyway, maybe not even at work (citation).

If they don't want to take it off, and you already don't want to speak to a veiled person by default, walk away.

You can't force them and tell them you have to take that off to engage in conversation with me.

I wouldn't really, but you have to be considerate of other peoples beliefs. Regardless of the other persons perception of correctness, or political reasoning.

Is this your only reason after all that?

It isn't even a valid reason.

No, people like you in this society do not accept it.

WORLD of difference.

look at the poll, thats a lot of people like me.

any reason is a valid reason.

If you want to treat women as second rat,e fine, go do it in a country that accepts it, but not over here.

I am not a racist but it is our country so abide by the rules generally. Such as Islamic school girls wearing them when it is not part of the uniform. By that logic I could start my own religion up and wear whatever the **** I wanted couldn't I?

So are certain hoodies, motorcycle helmets and the like, but people want to specifically ban the veil. Doesn''t make any sense from a security reason. Either you have, the state impose on our lifes and have all face hiding banned or not.

That's not the point, they can and do leave them on, People wear a hoodie up and pull the cord in to cover there face.

Erm...Actually...places like banks, and petrol stations, and shops, they *have to remove the helmet, mainly for security reasons.

*shops etc it depends on the cashier / shop sometimes

At the owners discretion and it applies to religious wear as well.

Not any reason is valid.

how about iof the majority of people wanted to throw all coloured people out the country, would that be a valid reason. Democracy is not just public opinion. It has to go hand in had with strict rules to ensure public opinion does not infringe on rights.

Simply wearing a veil does not treat women as rats, some women wear it on there own accord.

345 votes.

OcUK is not public opinion. Neither is it indicative of it.

OcUK is predominantly generally right wing with varying degrees of extreme right wing support.

any reason is a valid reason.

Ok, is this the depth of your argument?

One reason, that isn't actually valid, and thats it?

Case done is it?

Astounding.

If you want to treat women as second rat,e fine, go do it in a country that accepts it, but not over here.

I don't treat any woman as second rate.

It is up to them what they want to do.

We do accept it here as a society, its narrow minded people like you within it that do not.
