Instead of banning the veil why not strive to create an environment whereby Muslim women feel empowered to make their own decision with regards to weaning the veil.

Let's not kid ourselves that all Muslim women are forced to wear the burka/veil/niquab. I would reckon the majority do so by choice.

But their choice to wear it will have consequences for the society in which my daughters live and how they are treated. Women have equal rights in this country because of the actions of Anglo Saxon women. I will not tolerate that being thrown away in one generation to appease Islam.

What kind of society do you want your daughters living in?

Regarding that they do it by choice, sure you would do it by choice and be proud if it meant your family and peers were happy. But ask an average Muslim female her honest opinion the answer its a resounding no. So lets listen to the majority?

The thing is theres no reason for it.. no practical reason to have your whole faced veiled, unless its an extremely windy day on one of our lovely sandy beaches. This is England not the Iran.

What has that got to do with them having religious practices?

Yep they're banned in a few shopping places and most shops have signs saying not to wear them as they conceal your face from cameras.
