Face scarf's and a head scarf?

What then ban that too?

I presume face masks can be asked to be removed in banks / petrol stations etc?

I've voted no as a ban is not a good precedent to set, if it's about womens place in modern society then banning the veil doesn't guarantee them (or anyone) a fairer society. Restricting choice (to cover or uncover flesh) doesn't exactly smack of tolerance, while I've got no great love for veils it should be up to the individual if they choose to wear them.

If it's about security then it should be applicable for any face covering so anything that covers your face must be removed on request or you cannot use XX facility that has requested your compliance.

Its very simple you lot if they did this they would have to include a lot of other face covering implements.

And im sure someone will say that there are beards out there that are face covering and a """"""security """" risk """"".

Gosh you people. My toaster does not tell me when its going to burn the toast it is discriminating against me BAN TOASTERS.

It's not even a Religious garment ..IT'S A SAND MASK. What do people want to use a sand mask in birmingham?

That's unless your Mrs is a right ugly bint :D

Instead of banning the veil why not strive to create an environment whereby Muslim women feel empowered to make their own decision with regards to weaning the veil.

Maybe that is one part of our culture that we could pass on ;)

The thing is theres no reason for it.. no practical reason to have your whole faced veiled, unless its an extremely windy day on one of our lovely sandy beaches. This is England not the Iran. Sure we are a tolerant people we accept foreigners in our country let them bring their culture over. BUT, we have to draw the line somewhere. Most UK Muslims dont feel the need to wear it so why should we accept something that is probably being forced upon them. I think its more a question of them accepting that its a no no in this country rather than this country accepting it. And before you call me a racist my ex was a beautiful Persian lass :)

Have you seen Birmingham?

I'd want to wear a Burkina with the slot sewn up :p

So why not ban all face coverings?

Yeah but it isnt a nono..

Theres a just a bunch of us lot in the UK who feel uncomfortable with FULL face Hijabs thats it.

While i dont like covered faces.

I have no problem with hijabs which dont cover the face.

Either way tbh i respect everyones wishes to wear what they wish how they want it.

The majority of Islamic women in this country WHO DO wear a headscalf OR a hijaab wore them out of choice.

The small group who are forced to wear them well what can I say dont let that influence your opinions on the idea as a whole.

My ex was half Persian Half pakistani/Muslim she didnt wear a scalf or anything for that matter she just use to dress normal.

Most Muslims are like that anyway lol.

Media hype and stupid people are making it out as if every single muslim is forced to wear a hijab or a headscalf.

Why does it bother you what other people wear?
