Vegas Hotels

Tower rooms at MGM are fine - pretty big for standard rooms. The west ring rooms are SMALL but 'boutique' style.

Pool at P Ho is a big slab on the roof. Its pretty big but not somewhere you'd want to hang out. MGM pool complex is enormous, and has a lazy river. Check it out on google maps:

VS:

That is on the 10th floor or thereabouts.

Just been. Stayed at MGM and Wynn. More going on at MGM but it is absolutley massive and takes 20 minutes to walk to anything, pools are good though. Encore Beach at Wynn/Encore is brilliant too

You made the right choice Fox. The pool might sway me if you were staying longer but you prob won't have much time for that.

Lol I was there too that day! I have gone too long without a trip :(

There are waaaaayyy more actual hoes at the MGM though.

It is actually in a different place, just by the exit to the pool area past the shops/restaurants.

Yeah that's where I meant, when the last Hatton fight was on the entrance to the fight arena was around there, by all the restaurants etc.

Ok, trying to work around the childrens holidays, and arranging the least time for possible childminders (my parents) to look after the girls, it seemed as if going before the holidays would be a better idea all round (as apart from school runs it means a lot less childminding needed).

I am a bit suprised that unlike everywhere else the prices don't change that much (I guess Vegas isn't really a family/holiday destination!).

Anyway... still looking at TI but the week before (18th-22nd Oct):

£623.14 per person

10:25 Depart London (LHR)
Arrive Las Vegas (LAS) 16:55 Mon 18-Oct
Duration: 14hr 30mn Continental 29 / 268
Connect in Newark (EWR)

23:18 Depart Las Vegas (LAS)
Arrive London (LHR) 21:55 +1 day Fri 22-Oct
Duration: 14hr 37mn UNITED 40 / 922
Connect in Washington (IAD)

The flights seem good for maximising time in Vegas for arrival/departure (also handy that Heathrow is only 45 mins or less/more depending on traffic), but knowing very little about the airports in the US (bar Orlando) not sure if the above actually seems good or not?

Hoping to get this booked inc time off work in the next few days, but need to make sure all tallies up (decent price/time/child cover/wife and me both managing to get the time off work) as soon as thats all signed off I can go ahead and book :)

The West Rim appears to be 120 miles away and is where the Skywalk is. We never cooked but I got a crate of bud in cans, got settled by the pool got a tan and tipsy before a night out in Freemont. Saved a fortune. What is the practical difference? It still looks pretty awesome to me.

The "West Rim" is actually a place called the West Canyon but has been "rebranded but the Hualapei Indians and tour companies as the Grand Canyon West Rim to make money

Search for the GC west rim and all you will find is tour compnay info because it isn't actually part of the GC

It is, however , a very nice place but it is not the GC and is noweher near as dramatic

The only downside to that itinery is that the intrenal flights are long, US internal planes are rubbish comapared to the transatlantic ones but other than that it all looks OK

Sadly this time round we're having to connect in New York :(

Ususally do the Virgin route but was able to get a Bristol flight a lot cheaper, with the advantage that we don't have to faff about with hotels or parking this end as it's not far away.

Anyone actually stayed at Circus Circus? It looked dated and over run with kids when I last went.

A mate has booked a trip to Vegas in Nov and he chose that hotel, we let him do the booking by himself, which I may regret...

Still is dated. It's cheap for a reason.

If you wanted cheap. You would have been much better going with the sahara or even better imperial palace.

Circus circus has far too many loud kids, and needs a refurbishment.
