10:22:51 - Tries to pull away from the officer holding her.

you must be watching another clip to the one in the op? the one I've seen there is was a little shrug ,certainly nothing the officers holding her couldn't handle I'm sure

10:44:30 - Obviously can't tell what's going on but if she was just stood there behaving herself would the Sergeant have jumped up from his desk without reason? Would another officer have appeared from the door next to her?

What's her age and sex got to do with it? Should she be treated any differently to a 20 year old man? No.

She could have been saying or doing anything but that doesn't give any officer the right to assault her, even if (hypothetically) she had assaulted him first

Any other person shouldn't be treated like she was, the physical stuff that is

AND for some reason we can't hear the abuse she is giving back.

After 22 minutes of trying to calm her down and get her to give her details I would have given up and dragged her off to the cell myself as well.

Also looks like it took 2 minutes or more to throw her in..
Drunk, disorderly, uncooperative, mouthy old cow.

I'd like to see more heavy handed coppers like him about to be honest.

There are two sides to every story;

One outrageous policeman throws elderly lady into cell.

Abusive, drunk, non cooperative woman bangs head as she falls.

Personally I'd side with the Police.

I wouldnt say it was a trivial offense. Yeah the cops got her when she was sleeping, but if they hadnt she could have woke up, drove and killed someone.
Being drunk and in your own car with the keys is a silly idea

Why? I felt absolutely no inclination to drive - I very much wanted to sleep out of the pouring rain. It's like saying being home while drunk is a bad idea because you have a knife in your house, and while it's normally a safe instrument you might kill someone while wielding it drunk.

Its not the copper that decides whether they believe you or not, they provide the evidence to the court who then decide. Thats why she was taken to the station as she was obviously drunk to the cops, they have to collect their evidence back at the station using a special machine designed for it. You can find yourself getting charged by the police but not convicted if the court believe you

Tell me this. If you had a child that was knocked down by a drunk driver. You later find out the police had earlier found him sleeping in his car drunk with the car key, but left him alone as they believed his story that he was just trying to sleep

I bet you would be blaming the police for not arresting him when they had the chance. Armchair police all over this forum always thinking they are right when they tend to have absolutely NO idea how the police operate

Here comes my ban, well then you mate are a *****.

Are you a police officer out of interest?

Because i for the life of me cant imagine how you can justify that if you aint.

This forum gets me quite angry sometimes by people like you, personally insulting people because they have a different view to you. I hope you get banned.

He is banned.

That woman was being a right cow, got thrown into a cell and banged her head, and now tries to play the frail old woman card and people leap to her defence.

Mouthing off should never be met with bodily harm and it in no way makes it more understandable.
Bloody hell. I hope they throw the book at him .

He is banned.

Suspended ;).

Guy is obviously on the crazy side and does need to be sorted out. At the same time i cant help but think it should be like that to an extent getting involved with the police and ending up in prison / cells for a night should not be a comfy expierance, and i reckon she will think twice before causing problems again...

Ok must apologise to Burnsy, he didnt deserve that.

I dont even know why this particular story has got on my nerves so much.

Bah anyway cheers for the early un-banning.

I understand that he has a job to do, And she was'nt helping herself

But his job was done when he got her to the cell, there was no need for the force shown lauching her at the floor.

I imagine it does get fustrating if you have to deal with drunken and abusive people on a day to day basis.

But it his job to show restraint, and as in the video shows he clearly did not.

Should be sacked or demoted to some job, you cant go around throwing people about, I cant do it to another member of the public so why should coppers be able to and get away with it.

After it I bet he felt like a right **** and tbh someone like him should not be in that position again, you cant just have a bad day or stressful night and take it out on the public.

I've seen police get "tough" on youths in town fri/sat night, dragging them to the van et al, but it was the "Shoved-in-the-sell" like Dirt that made this especially bad - even blood aside - lots of it "I'm 6 foot 3, understand THAT middle-old lady; put up and shut-up". Some writers on SkyNews forums think the POLICE man should be "given a medal"

Yea, you get you "Rael moat's a hero" type, and then the civilised. Thats us right?;)

nick1988 have you ever been mob handled by the police before?

No and have I ever caused any trouble with the police before ... No.

People can avoid this if they were not fools themselves. If she wasnt off her face she might of ended up there in the first place and she also probably wouldnt of been such a pain in the arse. You would have thought by the time you reach 57 you would have some respect and be able to realise when you just need to do as your told.

Like I said above tho I dont condone what he did and he should get done for it but I also dont feel sorry for her in the slightest.
