Oh and I should have made it clear I dont want any old nut, want the same type as what is on it.

take a picture and let us see then, you can buy after market quick release skewers and sets from various places ;)

the bike has reflectors and a bike stand thing, and a bell, it's owner needs a slapping lol

Which nut is it? Where's it come from? The end of the skewer?

If it is, I think you might have to buy a new skewer, they're not expensive though.

The bike is clamped by the frame?

I'll give you that!

Imagine clamping a skinny Boardman frame like that! As soon as you put pressure on the bike the wrong way it would flatten the top tube! :|

I'm not familiar with those names, I have been using the following map to find all the trails so far.....

Dont use maps as I don't understand them.
Basically it's just further up from the Gulley. Far at the back where there's a a fence to the Army fields (or whatever government owned type place it is)

Just came back from doing Ashton Court and loved it. I'm new to all this so my fitness needs to build up so 2 laps of the whole thing was my limit :p
My bike is now covered in orange sticky clay though, the joys!

Thanks a lot feller....ill try and find the size i need.

Id rather not replace the cups as ive heard its a risky job without a proper press.

Just took my headset to bits and both bearing cases are cracked.

Ive checked the cups and they say:

1-1/8" 45 X 45 NO8B ACB Compatible W/campy.

From that can anyone tell me what bearings i need for the headset/

Thanks

Can you guys recommend somewhere to go for a few mountain bike novices?

We are based in Oxford, been cycling to work, hardtails. Looking for somewhere were we can camp for a day or two this end of of the country that has some good off road that won't kill us.

How far are you willing to travel, Cannock is only about an hour and a half away from you.
