Yeah, the FSRxc is a decent bike with a good frame. I've done about 3,000 miles on mine and now use it for regional XC races. Pics in link under sig.

Yep it seems to be pretty decent, good base to upgrade I suspect too. What's that little mudguard on the back of your FSRxc? I assume it keeps a lot of mud off of the shock?

I must say though, your Enduro is absolutely beautiful!

Taking my wheels in to my LBS tomorrow to be trued.

Im currently running a Bontrager king earl Rear wheel with spesh eskar dual compound tyre + slime tubes and XT cassette which comes in at 3kg.

Would you 3KG is heavy for a single rear wheel or would you say thats pretty much average?

Thanks

3kg is average for a typical XC/AM wheelset including Cassette and tyres.

FWIW

my XC wheelset (minus Cassette and tyres) weighs 1450g
my AM wheelset (minus Cassette and tyres) weighs 1750g

Aye but both your wheelsets are only a little heavier than his only rear wheel + tyre

The slime won't help the weight and it sounds like a heavy tyre!

Wha?

J273's rear wheel inc tyre and cassette is 3kg
my AM wheelset is 1750g or 1.75g
Add tyres at say 1.4kg = 3.15kg
Add XT Cassette - 3.4kg ish

Go for a lighweight XC race set up and you are looking at 1.2kg a wheelset + tyres and cassette - roughly 2.5kg

DH Wheelsets: 2.2kg a wheelset. Plus tyres etc......

Sorry I'm talking out my arse. According to a site the rear wheel should weigh 1.26kg so it must be a heavy tyre/slime making it weight 3kg for a rear wheel.

A single rear wheel fully loaded at 3kg is pretty heavy !!

My brake levers seem to be getting more and more loose. There's a lot of free play in them when you wiggle them from side to side, i've had a look and can't see any way of tightening them, anybody have any ideas?

Brakes are Avid Elixir R's.

Ok...anyone know a cheaper fix? :D

I'm pretty sure that it's just the same underneath, it's hard to see though because it's obscured by my shifter. Will take it off tomorrow and have a proper fiddle with it

For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, Ride The Divide, a film about the great divide race is on youtube free for the next few hours.

It's 1h20m long, and its amazing, really inspiring stuff.

Does anyone know anything about the Magura 'Johnny T' Hydraulic Rim Brakes?

They look like HS33's but I'm not sure if they are...

Thanks
