I had the great experience of seeing an A380 flyby a couple of weeks ago. I was at the Mall in Cribbs Causeway having a nice cup of tea and could hear a planes engines roaring, it sounded really low but couldn't tell what it was. Then looking out the window I could see the massive thing banking round and heading straight for us as if it was about to land in the mall itself!! It passed right over the top of the mall (which has a glass roof) and suffice to say we quickly drank up and headed outside to check it out but it didn't come back round again, gutting. Did see it land at Filton a few moments later though, man that thing has presence. 
Some great videos in here, had plenty experiences of flybys at Fairford over the years, nothing quite like it. I wish soooooooo much I could get the chance to go up in a jet, sadly the chances are pretty non existant.

Maybe if it's on youtube, Gord, a blatant hint on how to find it will be sufficient

Still a bit sad that Tomcats have been retired.

It's illegal? and BTW it was a military airshow. They probably got clearance to do it. If it's illegal why did the Concord do it then?
Concorde has never gone supersonic over soil in UK airspace.
If the jet you saw went supersonic over your head you would have heard more than just a bang. Plus you'd have lost your hearing for a good while.
Surprised that more of these pilots aren't... Though I wonder more, what they are actually doing (why they are in the air
Low fly training. Hug the deck and they are only visible for a matter of seconds rather than a minute or more when flying higher.

It doesn't compare to the vids here. But last summer I was at a beach on the south coast. There was an air show somewhere nearby and a Lancaster bomber came in low from the sea and over the beach . The noise and vibration from it's engines was terrific
I didn't say that I thought he hit it. I said he "took it out". It looks like the seagull gets thumped to the sea by the wake turbulence.
How is my perception screwed?

i could swear i've heard the sound barrier being broken a lot just in my garden? I guess its because i live near elvington airfield though (longest UK runway and where richard hammond nearly killed himself) maybe the great yorkshire airshow gets clearance for it

wow those are amazing.
Many years ago I had the privilege of seeing the late great Ray Hanna doing a demo/practice in his Spitifire, which involved barrelling down the runway at Bassingbourn with his prop about four feet off the concrete. He was so low that the slight rise in the middle of the runway was enough to hide him. He was a god-like pilot though.
