Record rise in insurance costs

ouch £1015 for a standard s2000 for me and the missus with on street parking and living in the roughest part of Glasgow.

edit - just re-ran with my non fault accident declared

£1388 with the same company, or £1200 with the cheapest company on compare the market,

but a £350 increase, ffs if i ever see the guy that drove into me again i'll swing for him :(

Insurance has had me foxed. It has consistently gone up each year so far.

22 with 0 NCD - £499
23 with 1 NCD - £630
*24 with 2 NCD - £850 - tried it out in prep, by march when the renewal is due it'll probably be even higher.

Nothing has changed with the policy, car or where i live. I haven't tried other cars yet but dread to think what the cost would be.

I had 3 points on my licence and now have another 6 so guess my insurance will be atleast £2,500 and that's even if I get insured!

Doesn't make a difference with the insurance company I work for, I find it quite puzzling why it does with others.

because different underwritters will rate upon different info, some insurance companies rate upon kids and marital status others give discount for being a home owner

One of my brother's crashes involved another car, 5-10mph head on. She claimed for whiplash and some existing damage, entire claim was dismissed. She's never received a penny.

I wasn't paying attention, and I went into the back of her.

Wouldn't pass in a rape case, why do you think it'll fly here? :D

think he is refering to the price of the policies being a lot more for people who have caused accidents etc

He was referring to me adding another 6 points to my licence as I already have 3 so now have 9 points!

All my points are from speeding as ive never had or been involved in an accident and the times I have been caught speeding is either on motorways or A roads, which lets face it - everyone goes over the limit!

Not sure how it makes it difficult for me to insure my car.............not sure how that makes me a poor driver either.....

If anything, my points have made me a more aware driver as I now look out for the boys in blue.

Just had my renewal through for my Jeep. £2K TPF&T £500 XS = £387!

33, lots of NCB, good postcode, no points. Funnily enough my Jeep is group 17 same as a UK Turbo Impreza!

My Type RA WRC with 320HP was £400 FC :(

Mines the lowest its ever been at £400 :)

Same here but £550...only recently got 1NCB as well, other than that it's 6 years on license and being 23. If I had a Focus it'd be about £300, my insurance just seems to go down all the time with my age, can't complain really.

Mind you, most companies were quoting me £1500+ for the BMW simply because "It's a BMW sir, that's why the premium is high". So for a lower powered one than my last one they wanted nearly double what I paid last year. :/

I just got my renewal letter and it's £180 more than last year (£580) :( On an A3 1.9tdi

I've got 7 years ncb and i'm 30, cheapest price i've had is £500 :( bummer

I suppose it doesn't help that I live in Bradford and it has one the highest rates of uninsured drivers in the country.
