5870 is faster and no longer in production, therefor there are very limited quantities left and demand is still good due to people upgrading to crossfire etc. so no price drop on the older cards I am afraid.

Nope not really we've gone quite aggressive on them as we believe 70% of customers will buy the 6870 as its a considerably faster card.
