HTC Desire Z passing under the radar?

I think its just because the HD is the flagship really, having one myself it is a REALLY nice phone but when the wife gets a new one it's likely to be the Z since she doesn't really have big enough hands to cope with the DHD.

I've got one on order and I'm just waiting for it to arrive, though keeps getting put back, latest estimate is that it'll be dispatched on Monday 1st November.

Desire Z / Desire HD

576MB RAM/768MB
3.7" screen/4.3"
Slide out keyboard/none
800Mhz CPU/1Ghz (stock)

Probably a couple more.

The Desire Z has been made particularly difficult to root. I'm not sure if anyone's managed to bypass the protection they've put in place yet? You wont be able to install custom ROMs until it's cracked which will put a few people off.

It can be rooted but only until the next reset at the moment, though people are working hard on sorting this out, WIll probably be helpd by the fact that the HTC source files have now been released and soon people will actually have the handset which at the moment not a huge amount do

The Desire HD can't be permanently rooted either.

I'd personally take the Z over the HD because i type craploads on my phone and seriously, the HD is approaching the limits of size when it comes to phones for me personally.

There are loads of HTC ads on the London underground highlighting the new features of HTC Sense.

Has any existing phone actually received an official HTC Sense HD update yet?

Had one preordered since they were announced, starting to twitch a bit though as im going on holiday on the 15th and I really hope I have it by then. It just been put back on plays website until the 5th so im starting to worry a bit :p
