I thought parts were cheap on Fords?
I thought parts were cheap on Fords?
I'm visiting mates next weekend - it's likely to cost a few hundred quid.
So yet another motors thread gets derailed because "the OP was boring".
I'm not denying it was a financial decision - when I got rid of the Saab it was because I realised I wasn't bothered enough about having a nice car to keep paying for it.
Is it that you don't want to pay for a nice car or that the particular car you chose wasn't worth the running costs? Isn't this the reason that Saabs, RX8s and V8 4x4s are so cheap?
but I really do like them

Oh come on, stop warping my words, I was still doing 20k when I sold it and fuel economy was only ever a small factor

You claimed do be doing 25% less mileage than this when the Saab was up for sale.
That thread was funny though, I love how the first page says you are only selling because you needed £6k to buy a new roof for a fully insured shared ownership structure and by the end of it you just fancied more cash for holidays.
How was that Safari you had planned?
Because a few hundred miles a month isnt a reasonable variation? I'll edit all my posts to say 15-20k if it keeps you happy
Shared ownership? I dont think you really know what that term means
I've got most of the money I need aside for the safari holiday, we're hoping to book it for summer 2011. Any reccomendations?

The building's sorted now, thanks for your interest.
Have you priced safari holidays recently, they arent cheap
Nope, it involved paying out a little bit for another structural engineers opinion, a lot of arguments between insurance company and said structural engineers, followed by about a grand's worth of re-rendering - paid for by the insurance company.
Aus is definitely on the list at some point, but a proper safari is something we've both wanted to do since we were kids - so trying not to think too much about the cost.
I'm working for a company with an australian parent, my colleague is an ozzie who was sent over to get the infrastructure set up but he's going home in a few weeks. There's talk of sending me over next summer to help out with a Citrix project, so I might get a free trip out there![]()
