Nexus II in time for xmas

I'm not too bothered about the materials, as long as (and I think we can all agree here) -

  • Its got a large SAMOLED screen (pref 4.3")

  • It feels solid even though it may be a bit light in weight

  • The camera has a flash of some sort (:rolleyes: Galaxy S) and at LEAST an 8MP decent camera, 10.1 would be ideal

  • Its very fast, like the Desire HD. Which I'm sure it will be.

  • One of the most important points (I just edited in :p) - It needs a decent battery, something close to 2000MaH would be perfect, and is easily possible.
Google will take care of the software side of things, which is fantastic, and I'm sure we can all put up (if we have to) with some Galaxy S-esque build quality if it has the above features.

I'm not adverse to plastics but if it's crappy plastics I'd have concerns over the internals getting damaged. When the phone is likely to cost 400 quid (more most likely) I don't want it to break if I put it on the table too hard.

You would need to 'put it on the table' VERY hard for it to break, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

The main drawback of the plastic finish is that people dont like the feel of it. That said, I personally dont think the Galaxy S feels as bad as people made out, its just very light which can make it feel cheap.

Then those same people moan when a phone is too heavy :p

Yup + 1

For me personally I wouldn't like it to be any larger than 4", but still would buy it if it is 4.3", but not any larger.

Would also like a flash as well (and judging by the earlier photos, it looks like it just has your normal flash that you would find on any normal mobile, I am happy with that :D), I am sure that Samsung probably didn't want to put a flash on it :rolleyes: and that google forced/wanted them too :p :D

Would be happy with 5MP tbh :p, but it will most likely be 8MP

Should be faster than the HD I reckon, think it will be dual core with more RAM and internal storage

Yup also want the battery too be good as well (especially after seeing the desire HD battery life :p) and apparently it will have a 5.33Wh battery which is equivalent to 1440.54 mAh, still slightly smaller than my samsung spica battery (1500mAh), but at least it is bigger than the HDs battery :D

They've got the screen size right at least. Any display over 4" is pointless imo. They are still first and foremost PHONES - the line between tablets and phones should be kept pretty clear else people really will start walking around doing that certain famous "on the phone" sketch without realising it.

Any real videos of the "contour" display? What are the advantages and surely it ruins viewing angles (not that it matters much on mobiles).
 
Would be cool if it was not made by Samsung, everything I have seen them make as of lately looks utter crap and cheap :(
 
If all it turns out to be is a Nexus S with a fixed GPS, it'll be worth considering :) There's not much that a Hummingbird cant cope with tbh.
