Listening to music whilst revising...

What an extraordinary amount of effort in the OP...

No, get distracted and lose an hour searching for lyrics, album art, new albums, new artists

No, simply because of recall cues etc. Whilst it's relaxing, it's not preferable.

is that it?

I got distracted by the music I was listening to.

Seriously though, I usually look at the people in the library with their headphones on whilst doing work and wonder how they manage to concentrate with the noise but since trying it myself, it seems to make little to no difference in how much information I remember.

Yes, but I find it easier to concentrate with instrumental music than music with vocals - I think it's along the same lines as some ambient sound is okay but as soon as people start talking it gets very distracting.

It's supposed to help if you listen to music for 15 minutes or so BEFORE revising (to stimulate the brain) , but not while you're actually revising.
