Head in the cloud84.
perhaps you need to drop your fanboi levels or stop dreaming things.
i have it hooked up to studio monitors and there is nothing special about the car sounds i have heard so far. It is the same story for all cars. Turbos sound identical, gearboxes sound identical, engines are identical, everything is the same except the fact they move the sound pitch a bit up or down.
Watch the Furai video I posted and then come tell me if the Furain in game sounds like that. Or maybe that reality check would hurt your fainboi feelings![]()
What are you on about? Loads of the cars sound completely different and many are very distinstic. I think you might need your hearing tested...
What cars have you guys been using for Like the Wind? I heard earlier in the thread that a Corvette ZR1 fully kitted out does it but 700k odd is a lot to blow on a car I might not use again. Nothing else I have seems to have the power to weight ratio needed (Veyron, Zonda R etc). I have the money *just* for the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car, but as I can't see the specs I'm wondering if it will lose its usefulness later on.
Also is there a way to change the tyres or in A-Spec does it just auto pick the best ones you have for the unrestricted races?
I used a Mazda Furai for the Indy race and a Veyron for Daytona. Both were fully tuned.
I have not repeated any races yet, apart from going for gold and I don't plan to go back for grinding. If the game brings me to a point where I am broke and I have to grind then I will just drop it.
repeating races for extra cash has always been a part of GT, if this is something you don't like doing then why buy the same series again and again ?

My god the collision detection is so inconsistent. Example: accidentally ploughed into a VW van on the Top Gear track at Hammerhead- no problem. Brushed someone else at Bacharach- disqualified :-/
Equally, I notice the AI are allowed to do whatever they want- on the straight before Bacharach I've got a decent gap to the van behind, but somehow it still manages to get a slipstream/catch up/whatever and proceeds to bumper car my van.
Eiger Nordwind Special Event Grand Tour in the Alfa is HARSH. I'm tenth's of a second of silver and thats after a good hour trying. I can either get the first part right or the last part right but never at the same time grr Awesome game, v glad I added all my own music though.
I am calling it as I am hearing it and after lots of studio work I have done, i don't think my ears are failing me yet.
I bought a 2nd hand Logitech Driving Force EX yesterday, connected it and went to the Nascar Special events and golded them in a few tries, so much easier.
But is it normal that controlling cars and especially braking is more difficult?
I found that under braking my Gallardo would slide much more compared to the pad, also I am about a second slower with the wheel compared to the pad, is it normal that I struggle or am I missing some setup settings?
Also on this page: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/gran-turismo-5/81077-race-series-what-car-use.html
It advises a GTR '07 in a lot of races but wouldn't it be better to get a GTR V-Spec '09 instead or will that car be excluded from races?

Want! Got me a standard Hachi that I've been messing about with, so much fun![]()
I guess I should not have used a Gallardo for testing as I found that it's a bitch to drive anyway, understeering too much and nerveous when braking hard. Most people find it takes a good while to get used to a wheel, braking won't help as I'd imagine on a 'cheap' wheel like the EX that there's only a tiny amount of resistance to the brake pedal (the pedal on the G25 is fairly 'stiff' which makes it a lot easier to modulate imo, but then it costs many times more than the EX so it should be better)
