***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Seems like their will be an update soon to the UK GT5 website that has GT5 my home bit online. Its now up on the HK GT5 site and you have to sign in with your PSN ID, so give it a try now if you want. It gives you friends list, message board share pohots, tracks etc. I guess this is where the remote Bspec stuff will also be done from at a later date.

So non biased people.

Does it blow Forza out of the water?

Tempted to get it, means buying a PS3! But I would want a wheel, but lead to beleive there isn't one that works with both yet?

Don't know about GT5, I am curious about it too. There is however a wheel that will work on PS3/Xbox/PC. It is the Fanatec GT2. Costs a fair amount, but for about 320 quid you'll get an amazing wheel, decent pedals and a shifter. For a bit more you can get alu pedals with ABS feedback...

In no way does it blow forza out of the water.

It isn't terrible though. :D

From my fairly limited experience of GT5 (but plenty with Forza 3), this is my opinion so far...

* GT5 has more variety, with the License Tests, Special Challenges, and B Spec Mode.
* Forza 3 is much more accessible, it's easier to navigate, and easier to understand which car is better than which (handy if you're not a car buff, which I'm definitely not).
* Both games have a great driving engine, both handle really really well.
* Forza 3's AI seems far superior
* It's much easier on Forza 3 to find cars you need for a specific race, as the online marketplace is much better than GT5's Used Car Dealership

That's all I can think of right now. Both are great games, but I'm personally preferring Forza right now, but I still need to put more time into GT5 before I decide for sure.

Woo endurance races open but still no f1 car :(, also got my human stopwatch trophy :) did it while grinding American championship race :D not bad 5 million waiting hope it is in the dealers tonight when I do a few more races.

I'm on the 3rd tier now and have completed a few Championships. Got the Ferrari one left to do and the final one. I've only got the 516BB, though it is fully tuned. Nearly won it last night, although it wasn't fully tuned, and the AI are cheating little gits.

The final Championship seems a very large jump in terms of cars needed to compete. I have a well tuned Maserati which was useless. My fully tuned (750bhp) Dodge Challenger RT got me a silver on one of the races though, just no chance of catching up 1st however.

Have I started the point where it's become a grind-fest?

I am well into the 4th tier (Expert) races and haven't had to grind once yet. Think I completed that championship with a tuned up GTR.

I'm going to have to ban myself from the Used Car Dealership:(

Almost everytime I start to mass some money they'll be a few cars in there that I "just have to have". Just splashed out on the RuF Yellowbird, a V6 Clio, and a 1500 Spitfire:D

god damn stupid B spec driver give him a 97 race prepped ek civic and he fails, stick him in a clio v6 and he shines. Apart from when for no apparent reason he decided to stop on the main straight of grand valley for 20 seconds and let everyone pass him

Got three b spec drivers at the moment. The third one is shocking (no doubt because he is a low level).

My level 12 driver is great. Its all about technique. Keep in the middle of the pack until youre down to the last two laps then go all out!

It irritates me that you can't start employing a new driver of the same skill as your first, I can have 4 drivers atm, but no way am I doing b spec 4 times to get them to level 25 to do endurance races

most defiantly not. the fact that a lot of people are going back to forza after playing gt5 says it all. its by no means bad, but its far from perfect and i think the reviews have been more then favourable probably due to the hype and fear of fanboy backlash.

id imagine forza 4, will completely show what a talentless team PD really are.

im not sure its worth buying a ps3 for, its defaintly not a shining example of what the ps3 has to offer.

Some of the events in the Extreme series you can use 2 drivers in the races and they both get equal progression. My primary lemon is class 23 with 2 different types at 16 for other races.

Got both A-Spec and B-Spec at level 24 now. Just need to build up enough cash for the Formula GT car but as some one else keeps doing also, I keep buying random cars :o. Never mind, nearly at 200/1000 :D
