Your Top 3 images of the year

Martin, you have a way of capturing landscapes and scenery that completely takes my breath away. I find this style of photography the hardest to master, and it is very inspring to see your work.

Lots of beautiful pics from everyone in here. I hope to start posting my efforts next year.

:)

Some awesome stuff in this thread so far!

I think mine are these:

Been able to get some great captures this year. Pushed more of my photography out this year and will keep on doing the same the new year.

learnt so much more about my personal skills and my taste in photography. Got a chance to experiment and meet new people to share my interest.

On with the photos.

Wow - some really jaw-droppingly good shots in here. Seems a shame to lower the tone by adding mine, but still..

1. From the kitesurfing champs held in Ayr earlier this year

2. From the top of Loudoun Hill, Ayrshire. We were up there with our two Beagles and bizarrely the woof-fest they were making actually attracted a group of sheep up the hill. As soon as I got the camera out and started approaching them, they turned tail and scarpered, but I got this in the nick of time

3. This is very recent, so apologies if you only saw it a couple of days ago, but I just love the lighting and the intrepid look on my two Beagles's faces.

oh dont even go there :(

latest lost is SSD ... and why oh why drives with photos have to die?!?!?!

Im going shopping tomorrow...new drives in which 2 for backup and one of them will be kept safe...

I have to start from the beginning...again!

For the sake of a few £/$ per month, it's worth getting an online backup as well, no matter how good your drive-based backup strategy (think theft/fire...).

I use mozy - signed up before it was launched in the UK so I'm getting unlimited storage (currently using >150Gb) for US$4.95 per month. Think it's £4.99 per month if you sign up in the UK now, but still well worth it for peace of mind.

..Well i'm not a professional photographer like most people here, but from the top of my head here's my favourate 3 from the year ....

Valley of Fire taken in October. Cracking holiday in Vegas and so much fantastic landscapes to photograph. Somewhere i will definitely return to. :)

Football photography has been a large part of my outlay this year with gaining more experience and stepping up into the role of club photographer i really had to include at least one footy shot (albiet not of the football itself). Mixed feelings about this shot since Cowdenbeath had just scored and its their fans celebrating not my team. But as a shot it sums up the moment in football for any fan :)

Here we are then; my best three (well I've a few others but I think these pip it)

Now I only started in early May when I first got my 500D quickly followed by my fifty in late June but now its stagnated at monies tightened....

1 - At the seaside; was trying to get a shot to send to the in-laws whilst we were on hols with my wife & her sister (+ family). Turned out brilliant - the canvas is amazing and everyone who sees this is amazed...

2 - took this on holiday as well; needed a rapid lens change to get it framed right and lost my specs in the process (found later that night in the bushes). The togetherness of father and daughter reminds me of mine and makes me smile :)

3 - took at a friends birthday party; just saw this and dived in to take the shot before they moved; as soon as I saw it come back to me on the camera without any PP I was like "YES"; the wife thought I was mad :p
