Fallout: New Vegas

Any one know what the DLC the game is offering me is?

According to the internet Dead Money isnt coming to the Pc for some time but every time the game starts it say DLC is available.

There's 4 DLC packs out for pc though to be fair theres not much content at all.

Caravan Pack [3MB]
Classic Pack [6MB]
Mercenary Pack [1MB]
Tribal Pack [3MB]

They just contain a few weapons, armors ect, nothing spectacular.

The Xbox360 get s it's dirty mitts on the DLC Dead Money, which we wont be seeing for some time :/

Those were never designed as DLC, they were pre-order bonus's.

Also check out the newvegasnexus.com

There are already loads of mods that add content to the game, maybe not in terms of new areas specifically but there's a crap tonne of quests etc.

I cant wait for when they bring this game in to the DX11 era and beyound....

The core gameplay is there, the world works etc.... they have to work on the poor AI, update the graphics, maybe even if they want to keep it 18 rated (like NV) then they can make it much more scrary as well!

One thing I dislike about the game is the way the quests are confusing to say the least, a lot of quests depend on other quests and doing some quests gives me a failed message for other quests.

Currently I am doing a quest for the Van Graffs in Freeside that requires bringing Cass to them but doing a quest for Cass I found out that they are double crossing her, but should I side with Cass or with the Van Graffs?

^ Van Graffs = Easier to get energy weapons

Cass = Companion

personally I went with Cass because you can loot all the energy weapons the Van Graffs display after you kill them all

I enjoyed wasting the Van Graffs. Blew off the head of the mouthy smart alec guard at the front entrance then Cass and I barged in and I created mayhem with the Alien Blaster. Lots of mess and lots of fun. :D

hmm, i cant even get cass to leave the damn bar at the NCR outpost. is my quest bugged? she says something about getting her papers. but i dont know what she is talking about. i just cant get her to come with me.

What I needed to do was a different quest involving doing work for the Crimson Caravan Company, after that I had to pass a speech check (50 I think) to get her to join me.

oh right so i need to do some quests for the caravan place first, thats explains why i cant get her to follow me to the van graffs.
I think there are 3 quests open at the same time, one quest for the Van Graffs to bring Cass, one quest where you need to have Cass part with her caravan company and one quest involving the crimson caravan company you need to do before Cass will seel her caravan to the crimsons.

First do the crimson caravan quest, then go back to Cass, get her to sell the caravan with high barter or speech skill and then you can do the Van Graff quest (or do Cass her sidequest by paying respects at her attacked caravan)

Quest lines like this are too complicated IMO as it can lead to all sorts of problems in a game with bugs.

How does the karma system work?

When I steal something, I get the you have lost karma message, I try not to steal too much, but what effect does karma have on the world?

I'v looked in my pip boy for my karma rating couldnt find it.

Also, Im only lvl 7 I think, so far Iv just been maxing out regular guns, medic, lockpick mostly, I am aware that later on in the game there will be laser weapons and expolosive rocket launchers etc.... if there enough ammo, to justify, spending points in those skills or at the eraly stage carry on spending points on regular guns etc...

There is Karma and there is Fame/Infamy.

If you do something good for a faction you gain Fame for that faction, if you do something bad you gain Infamy, if the Infamy gets too high you will be Villified by the Faction and they become hostile and you will fail their missions.

Karma is overall and in this game isn't as important as in FO3

Couple of questions:-

With companions, does it matter if after we've completed the companion quests if I send them on their way? Can I get them to follow me later on? I know you can collect them in one area but do I have to go there first and keep dropping them off on my way round?

Also, I'm collecting lots of stuff which in FO3, by now, I would have made some weapons - paint gun, pressure cooker that sort of thing. But in NV there only seems to be the ammo re-arm bench that seems a bit rubbish and the building bench which I've only made weapon repair kits on. Also haven't bothered with making stuff with the fauna as I haven't seemed to need it yet.

Companions can be sent away, they return to the place you got them and they can be asked to join again, I did this with Veronica, Boone and Cass.

Items are even more useless in NV than in FO3, only stuff I keep are duct tape, scrap metal, scrap electronics, wrenches and wonderglue as they make weapon repair kits.
Other stuff to make stimpaks are not needed as I can buy and find enough stimpaks anyway.
The food crafting at campfires is really only needed if you play on hardcore mode

I need to play this more. man the Death Claws are annoying I can't kill them. Should I leave them for later?. I just found Vault 19 and made them Join the Kahns. I was on my way to finallly get into Vegas when i found another stupid bulding :)

Thats what the games like.

You on your way to do one thing, find something else, get in to that, then find another two more things there, follow one of the paths, find yet morethings, etc.... wast loads of time, exploring all the filling cabinets to find bottle caps and ammo etc etc etc :D

Itsa good game. Graphics are poor tho. In dire need of some DX11 goodness.
