Fallout: New Vegas

So what to do with the DeathClaws? :(

Ratslayer from a safe spot? Have a companion to keep it busy while you melee it?

Got stuck into a Legendary Deathclaw over the weekend. I had ED-E and Cass with me and I had Recompense of the Fallen as a weapon (My personal favorite). They kept it busy while I beat the bejesus out of it. Managed to give it a damn good beating until it turned round and killed me with one swat.

I like having lots of quests to do - don't like it when theres only the main quest and I want to avoid the main quest for as long as possible. The explorer perk is handy for making sure you visit everywhere.

Deathclaws suck... leaving them along until I can wear power armor.

Anyone know about the quest heartache by the dozen (or something) the quest with Cass? I completed it, the Quest parts are all greyed out but the quest still thinks it is active.

I think you need to talk to her after finding the evidence of the caravan attacks, you then need to decide what to do next.

If not you might need to do a quest for the Crimson Caravan company near the Vegas medical center to go further, also a quest you get at the silver rush in freeside is connected to Cass.

I have exactly the same...I've already talked to Cass since when I had a conversation to persuade her to sell the caravan to the Crimson Company (iirc). Not sure if this fudged my relationship with Cass and therefore stalled the quest.

Did you ask her to join you as a companion?
After she is a companion you need to talk to her to advance the story as you need to visit her robbed caravan.

I think you need a high speech or barter skill 50+ or 75+ for her to join you as a companion.

Ahha! No I didn't, as I like Veronica's ability to pummel everything while I stand back like a girl and pick things off with an All-American. If I need to make Cass my partner to progress this quest, then I'd better re-think that. Thanks.

I enjoyed wasting the Van Graffs. Blew off the head of the mouthy smart alec guard at the front entrance then Cass and I barged in and I created mayhem with the Alien Blaster. Lots of mess and lots of fun. :D

Best option for these as you get no Karma penalty, just go in slaughter them all, quickly though, you need to take out the named male first as he has a 100% plasma caster on him.

You can loot the whole shop of all the interesting energy weapons.

You can part ways with Veronica, make Cass your partner, do the quest and afterwards part ways with Cass and pick up Veronica again at the 188

I also killed the Van Graffs, wasn't easy though.

I also found a YCS/186 Gauss rifle east of brooks tumbleweed on a mercenary and it's immense, it's just as great as a sniper rifle.

Ah thanks... I was thinking of trying that anyways, good to know it wont be a waste of time.

I have had to redo huge chunks of this game as I didnt like how it was going... I am up to 850+ saves (I don't overwrite)... almost time to start soting that out as there is a 1000 save limit cap.

Lol. How many hours did it take to rack up that many saves?

how many hours? Christ knows... actually, Steam knows... let me see.... Only 76 hours so far. Crikey, that works out as 11 saves / hour or something.

Sounds a lot but as it crashes a lot I do save a lot.

2 crashes so far in 17 hours.

I get the feeling it crashes due to textures....

As in I can hear the textures being buffered from the hdd, then crash....

a lot smother in inside areas, outside, is more crash prone.

Mine seem totally random... I went through a good patch after the 1st patch... but now it goes a couple of times a night. To be honest, i cant even be bothered to troubleshoot it - I just save a lot so it doesnt detract from how much i am liking this game.

Crashes are usually a sign it's well past bed time anyways. Real time flies when this game goes on, it's crazy.

Actually... I think i have done some funky stuff with my GPU for this game to stop the twinkling artifacts that were about (which could be making my crashes worse)... have the twinkles been patched out now?

I'm playout fallout 3 for the first and get random freezes. Sometimes when I open a door it freezes or when I open a chest it freezes but it only happens every now and then, its very annoying. I was worried it was my new pc but after reading that I'm guessing its the game engine
