Insurance prices = WOW :|

I'm not overly bothered but then that would be interesting to see what number it comes up with.

The point I was trying to make, albeit fairly badly was that you can't compare 'then' to 'now' as the insurance market would have course as you know be different. Never mind the fact that your postcode, job, relationship status etc probably make your quotes cheaper.

To be honest, due to the amount of variables and varying amounts that people can stomach as an excess, comparing all our insurance prices, is on the whole, quite pointless.

well i'm 31 and can't insure my 1.0 lupo for less than £500 p/a granted i have no ncb, after i lost 12 years worth in 2009 :(

Whilst I do think that his current circumstances dictate he should buy something modest his age isnt the problem - I was 6 months older than him when I insured my 530i for the first time.

A 530i is slow and worth nothing though. This is an Alfa.:D

1.1 Saxo, TPFT @ £560 give or take. Thats 20 (and 11 months), 3 years driving, 3 years ncb.

Same price as last year (19 and 11 months, 2 years driving, 2 years ncb)

Insurance has defo went up a lot the past year in my opinion.

He isnt a mechanical engineer, he's part way through a diploma in 'mechanical engineering' at a college. This makes him a student, which is a higher risk occupation than a mechanical engineer.

It'll be a good 5+ years before he's actually an engineer, in the same way as somebody doing biology A level isnt a Doctor.

Purely in the spirit of correction...you don't need to do Biology at A Level to get into a medical degree. The one A Level you must have is Chemistry. They actually prefer Mathmatics over Biology, but Chemistry is mandatory.

:)

Without threatening to change or moving to another insurer?

I'd say from my renewal quotes it's still gone down year upon year but not by that much. But after shopping around, easily so.

If people moan about insurance rises because of their renewals then that's a little silly, as you know they send out the renewal in the hope that everyone just bends over and accepts straight away, but that's just business, it's a buyer's market - shop around.

No correction needed as that wasn't my point.

Wooosh.

I know, but what you said wasn't exactly right, you only said Biology as it is associated with the human body, but when in fact University don't mind if you don't have an A Level in it. chemistry would and should be the course you picked, As for any aspiring doctor, they got to take chemistry, so to presume people who take biology = wanting to be a doctor is incorrect if they don't take chemistry they can't do medicine, except saying chemistry in your example just doesn't sound right.

But what am i doing? Lol this is rather pointless.
