***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Yes, many days of boredom! :o

No actually. The rewards for the final 2 endurance events are not exactly great but I try to get what I can out of a game and I wanted to get all the endurance events done. Thankfully, I don't have to do them :D

Question: in the events where there are championships held, did you just do the championship/single races or the whole lot?. I've cleared everything in B-Spec (well, will do at 2am!) and I only had to start grinding at 26.

I did it as the championship itself, so one button and winning all the races in a row to win overall?

Odd that you didn't need to start grinding till later, I've definitely done all the races, does the car you choose affect XP for the race at all?

Is the Land Rover 'Range Stormer Concept '04' a rare car? or useful? Just seen it in the used car dealers and have never seen it before.

I think I'll leave that for now then as I plan to gold all the licence tests at some point, although GT6 will probably be out by then :o.

Getting all gold on licenses for GT5 was easier than GT4 imo.
After finishing them I learned they don't unlock races like the older games.

The AMG Driving School seems way harder, especially in the rain.

I'm a fan of the series but there's just a bit too much grind in this one. 85% game completion and will probably stay that way for a while.

I didn't find the AMG ones too difficult, generally it seemed 3 or 4 of the 5 bits per level were really easy, just 1 or 2 annoying bits that took several attempts.

Other than B-Spec I've not done any grinding yet, although seasonal events helped a lot especially with cash, my a-spec is up to 27 with one repeated race where I failed to win the first time, I believe I can get to ~30 before needing to grind (and I probably won't bother at that point, but that should enable me to do almost all of the game)

On the subject of B-Spec, he's finally 21 and winning the first of the like the wind races, so close to getting my toyota 7 :)

Is that using a pad or wheel? Ive golded the beginners licence and got mainly silvers in the others with some golds.

Think I need a lot more practise. It was years ago when I last played a racing game.

110/200 laps through the indy endurance and I can't stand anymore so just holding x now and riding the outside rail. Shame the fuel runs out quickly though.

I'm using the Logitech Driving Force Pro wheel which came out around the release of GT4. I think it's easier with a wheel for most of the tests except the ones with lots of hairpins, or maybe I've just got used to it.

Dreading some of those races, I've only done the first endurance.

Nope, the car doesn't alter the exp gained from races at all. I guess it is because I have done every event possible, the single races and then the championship.

What's the point in doing the single races AND the championships?! Tad pointless to me, but hey so long as you're enjoying it doing it twice!

Sounds like hes testing the water so to speak with car choice etc before doing the whole championship and finding hes made a grave mistake...

I did the Nascar championship and lowered my top speed for the third race (i think), High Speed Ring was the next race and I forgot to increase the top speed again. Was bouncing off the limiter for most of the race :( Still won it though :o

Yer on one race maybe but not on every race!

Complete every race in a block (Beginner for example) and you get a gift ticket and a trophy. Can't complain.

Game completion should be at 97% after this final race, only the Red Bull challenge left but I don't think I can do it with a DS3 :(
