Battlefield Bad Company quick yay or nay?

The only gripe I have with bad company 2 or other battlefied games is that movement doesn't seem as fluid as counter strike source. I mean while running you can't eaily move left or right. You have to stop and then move either left or right if people know what I mean:(.

thats to make it more realistic, you try running quickly sideways with an RPG :D

Bought battlefield 2 yesterday just started the single player and its bloody great!!! the graphics are second to none on high. Looking forward to trying out the mulitiplayer soon

Good to hear

When you move into MP I'd recommend not joining a 32 man server straight away, 20-24 man will give you a bit more time to adjust and get used to things without getting killed all the bloomin' time (well not as often anyway :p).

i liked bc2 for a while but, i found it quite arcade type of war game,

if you want it to be more realistic & more like your in a real war zone i would recommend Medal of Honour i think its really close to what BF3 should be like.

how on earth did you figure that?

MOH is ea's arcade shooter to compete with cod (badly).

Oh and don't listen to buchtis last time he had a little rant he said the game is crap because get this NO ONE was playing it a year before it was released!

Apparently the mark of a good game is you invent time travel just to play it.

Its a yay, buchtis was whining about the game from the instant he looked into the thread and none of it was remotely original. Yes the ingame ping reading is useless though he's been told why and still rants. And really its ironic that he brings up CS:S repeatedly before complaining the behavior of some players on the servers like CS:S doesn't have just as many retards.

Anyway, i'm starting to get the hang of flying the chopper a bit better now. By that i mean i can fly around a base in circles now without getting stuck in 1 direction and flying into the ground backwards :D

I like MP a lot but what really bugs me about this, COD etc is the ruddy levelling systems. They really do get on my boobies.

Why should I have to play 9 million hours to get a decent weapon or add-on etc.

It doesn't affect skill level what so ever, its just means some fool with no life who has spent his entire existence playing it can kill you quicker.

FFS I paid for the game, give me everything and I'll choose what I want.

The basic class weapons/first level unlocks are actually rather good, there isn't much of an advantage in the later ones

Thats debatable, but you still don't get access to anything like Shotgun Slugs, Magnum Ammo, 12x Scopes, Explosive MK2. Seriously what is the point? Fair enough, giving guns as you level up i can deal with but giving all the general improvements is just plain dumb. It can easily boil down to you getting killed purely because the other guy had Magnum Ammo and you had nothing.

It's not like it takes that long to unlock a few upgrades either.

Even less time to pick up someone else's kit and run around with that.

Not really the weapons you have by the end of your first round are the best in the game pretty much.

I strongly suggest that you NOT get this game and get something else instead.

It's embarrassingly bad no matter what people say, here's just a few issues off the top of my head:
  • The lagg is shocking. Doesn't matter if you play on a European/U.K server, you're always bound to have 100 or more ping, like everyone else. Because of the lagg, you'll shoot someone, kill them and then 2-3 seconds later you'll die by the guy you just killed. The lagg is on par with these crappy 'Free 2 Play' peer-to-peer based games.
  • Practically everyone plays as the Sniper Class. Due to the maps being that large people don't bother with anything else and usually it's just a camp fest.
  • No one bothers with objectives, choosing instead to Snipe from afar instead of capping flags/bases. Literally every game mode, no matter what it's called turns into a Deathmatch.
  • Horrid, cluky controls. Honestly, come off CS:S and play this. Feels like a console to PC port, the aiming feels no where near accurate enough for what it should do for a game like this.
  • Retarded players. You'll mostly play with Eurotrash that will shoot you on sight if you take 'their' car/helicopter/boat/tank. Pathetic behaviour, I honestly thought there would be more mature players playing this game.

By all means, feel free to give it a go but prepare to be disappointed.

The lag is not bad at all. for me it's around 60-150, it's hardly 2-3 second delays.

Recon class does not win you games unless you spam sensor balls really. Snipers are annoying but that does not mean you will die over and over again by same person.

The controls are tbh decent. the shooting isn't CS like because there's bulletdrop and velocity, unlike CS that you shoot where you point and it's pretty instant.

Try hardcore mode a bit, it's more serious, slower pace and more enjoyable at times.

hardcore is just a campfest where wildly spamming will get you kills where you'd need to aim in normal.

I agree with Tefal.
MOH, it's definitely more arcady than BFBC2 and I sincerely doubt it's more representive of what BF3 will be like than BFBC2 is.

Edit: Massive YAY from me! Personally, for me, I don't remember a game that I've ever enjoyed more than BFBC2.

I'm generally i cod player but i bought bfbc2 try it out and it was a huge difference, one that will take some getting use to but if you persevere, you'll get the hang of it eventually,
Tried flying the chopper but i am not even remotely any good at flying but still fun,
If you see tank run like the wind and hide, soo funny when they spot you and try to take you out....am not a bad fps player but bfbc2 is just very different, some people love it while other people hate with a passion.

My biggest gripe is trying to hit laggy players,i hit this one bloke with knife TWICE and it wouldn't even register he promptly turned aroound and knife me......
