Embarrassed police have issued an apology to a mother after officers swooped on her house thinking she had turned it into a cannabis factory - and found an electric heater for her two guinea pigs 'Simon' and 'Kenny'.

The officers had been alerted when a police helicopter picked up a hotspot on the roof of Pam's garage and assumed it was a drug den, when in fact it was a cosy home for her loveable pets.

Shocking that the police can obtain a warrant and raid someone's home on the vaguest of suspicions, people will people be raided for having bad loft insulation next!

They must be really feeling the heat after this. Hopefully they can weed out their problems and start this year on a high.

I live in a quiet little village at the moment.

One of the big old farmhouses got raided when it snowed last year as a Police chopper saw no snow on their roof. Busted a massive cannabis factory. The Italian chap who owns it had unkowingly rented it out to some growers.

I was amused and annoyed at the same time. There is a lot of it going on, but surely the heat spot from a leccy heater is not enough to arouse suspicion. Clearly not!

our house got raided.. :) "suspecting stolen laptops/mobiles phones and so on.." found absolutely nothing.. not a single criminal charge at anyone in the family too... surprise doh.

who pays for the damage to the house? i bet its not the police

well they tried to fix our door.. but i was broken to bad so they just left :) since the house was rented.. the landlord had to fix the front door + the flat door downstairs and our upstairs.. none of them got fixed properly. only our from our own pocket.. i swear it can't be "legal" to just leave it tho.

The police (i.e., city) always pay. Your landlord should've contacted them.

lmao at how the daily mail are reporting it

in the reports i read yesterday the woman whos house it was seemed totally unbothered and accepted that mistakes happen

in the daily mail she is apparently on about contacting solicitors etc.

It's a time tested method of finding and removing home-brew cannabis farms, a mistake or two doesn't outweigh the huge amount of places they've shut down and people they've convicted.

What good is an article in the daily mail if it isn't getting someone fired up?
