On the stats page (the left one of the three) you can see effects you are experiencing, positive or negative.

Lockpick is tied to perception, so it looks like your perception is down due to addiction, dehydration, sleep deprivation, armour effects or poisoned.

My character had sex twice now, first time was in The Thorn after finding the female leader Deathclaw Eggs, the 2nd time was in Gomarrah with a girl called Joana in a quest

For the Deathclaw cave I had Lilly and ED-E (upgraded weapons) with me. I managed to get a few sniper shots with the Gobi on the Legendary one then while Lily and ED-E were taking a licking (and spending a bit of time being unconcious) I hit him with the CZ57 Avenger (minigun).

It took a few goes and a bit of luck. I have high sneak and was hidden for most of it as well.

How do you part company with a companion so you can recruit another, then recruit the original back later?

Also, how can i repair items myself in NV?

If you talk to your companion you can select to part ways, they will return to the place where you got them, if you want them to join you later on you can ask them again.

Repairing items is done with a similar item, if you have two 10mm pistols you can repair one with the other, this is done in the pipboy on the wepons or apparel tab.

If you get the Jury Rigging perk you can fix things with other vaguely similar things. For example fix a radition suit with casualwear.

For standard fixing, just select the items you want to fix in the pipboy and press R, if you can't press R then you have nothing to fix it with.

I guess the dialogue is slightly different for each companion, there should be one near the bottom of the choices, you then need to confirm and the companion leaves indicating where he/she can be found.

You don't need repair stations, you can repair all the time providing you have two of the same items (or a somewhat smilar item if you took the Jury Rigging perk)

Any way to repair my karma with teh NCR... I went from idolised to good natured rascal ages ago and havent managed to earn it back... is this even possible?

You mean Fame?
To raise it do quests for the NCR.

Or if you go far enough in the main campaign you get a pardon from the Ceaser Legion and NCR.

But 'good natured rascal' isn't too bad though, they don't attack you when they see you, or do they?
