Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

For the last 3 days I've had Doc's ROM v9.1.3 JS3 with Hardcore's newest kernel. K12Q.
I can honestly say it feels like I have a new phone in my hand!

I was on the V7.5 which I liked but this is another level of fast, smooth and responsive. The Gingermix theme is also brilliant and the GPS for me is way, way better.

Took a couple of hours of further reading to make sure I wasn't gonna mess anything up and deciding which bits to choose from the ROM kitchen but if you know what you're doing with phones and ROMs I can't recommend this enough!

Is it better than Darkys ROM.

I've not tried his one. I expect the speed to be similar but Docs lets you customise it so much. Check out the Kitchen link to see all the options down to apps, themes, boot animations, non increasing ringtone.

I forgot to mention the inclusion of voodoo sound v2, this definitely improves sound clarity for me

Wonder if you guys could help me.

I've been using Froyo 2.2 on my Galaxy S for a while with no problems, been working great.

All of a sudden today the screen stopped being responsive - ie I could swipe to unlock it but then the screen was that slightly grey/dull colour as if the screen was about to turn off. The touch screen basically became unresponsive with the only button that worked being the main home screen button. Didn't think much of it so rebooted the phone.

However, now when Android boots up apps like Titanium Backup, LaucherPro, NetCounter etc keep force closing automatically making the phone almost unusable. I've tried restarting the phone, taking the battery out but to no avail.

What's the best way to solve this problem, preferably without loosing all my data/settings?

Really don't want to have to a factory reset if possible :(

Hopefully not a hardware problem, but you're going to have to factory reset, clear cache and format the internal SD to find out. It does sounds like the file system is corrupt. With a rooted phone I'd backup apps/data with Mybackup and Titanium for things like bluetooth pairings etc.

I'm on the JPY modem. It seems to differ for some phones but my GPS used to find the satellites but not actually lock on, now it quite easily finds and locks onto 7-9. I use GPS Test app.
CSC I picked the XEU one I think

Where can I find out what modem I'm on?
What is the CSC?

Anyone else ever expeirenced the problem of losing signal, and not receiving a message until hours and hours after that time, even when signal has been regained?

I ask purely because it happens quite often, to me, where I will lose signal, someone will send me a message in that space of time, I will regain signal, but the message doesnt come through for hours unless I turn the phone off and on again.

I haven't heard much at all, some people on this forum (Desire owners I would imagine) say it'll never happen as the Galaxy S2 is out in the not too distant future.
