*** 25/02/2011 EXTENSION! *** DEAL OF CENTURY: Asus GeForce GTX 480 1536MB Graphics Card with 2 FREE

There've been a few reports on this thread of people getting different fan rpms at the same percentage of fan load. Mine is 2040rpm at 44%. This is too loud really for idle as I can definitely still hear it over my case fans. Currently running 35% fan and 1500rpm for idle.

2000+ rpm is way too loud for idle.

I don't think anyone had any idea why the same card from the same brand were having such different speeds for their fans.

I expected to see some slight variances in voltages but not as much as I am seeing here and I never expected the fan speeds would be different. :(

Bought mine when they were £195 but only just got around to installing it.

According to GPU-Z the card idles at 0.953 and maxes to 0.985 under load. Afterburner reports a constant 1v.

Currently running 800/1600/1952 on stock volts but not really had much time to properly test it yet.

my card also one of the 44%@2340 ish idle cards.
Same here, noise doesn't seem to bad either compared to my last one, which ran at a lower stock rpm.

Managed to clock mine to 860mhz on stock volts. 85 c max on bad company 2 with auto fan. My old 6950 would hit 86c on bad company 2 with auto fan

850 @ 1138mv hits 85c at 100 gpu load after a few hours of BFBC2 at 62%ish fan.

I have set my afterburner profile to do that as its a nice balance.

Zalman VF3000F going on it tonight though.

I'm getting massive artifacting and crashes in bfbc2 at stock speeds
cant play for more than 5 minutes, I have even done a fresh install of windows 7
to try and sort it, the thing is it seems fine for everything else, and my mates gtx480 works perfectly in my system :(

I have asked for a rma/replacement

Notice much difference in performance from your 6950?

I dont notice much difference in proformance but depends on the game. But with my core clock at 860mhz my system pulls 420 watts on bad company 2 and around 355 on mw2. The gtx 480 does seem to overlcock better tho

I notice the MSI version is showing as £179.99 in B-grade with 10+ in stock. It says it includes Mafia 2.
