"Our Dragon Age 2 review is in, and we’ve given it a score worthy of an Editor’s Choice award, calling it “darkier, sexier, better.” You can read the full review on February 16 when the latest issue of PC Gamer UK hits store shelves.

Satisfying, lightning-fast combat and spectacular spacial moves helped Dragon Age 2 to take the PC Gamer Editor’s Choice award, but the game excelled in other areas, too. A conversation system that doesn’t restrict you with an arbitrary morality meter and the huge, evolving city of Kirkwall help to fill Dragon Age 2 with “more character and vitality than any title in recent memory”."

The game may have come out eleven years ago, but many PC gamers still consider Baldur's Gate II: Shadow of Amn to be BioWare's finest work.

Assuming that to be the case, how does the soon-to-be-released Dragon Age 2 stack up against the company's best game ever?

Apparently, quite well.

It compares so well, actually that the game's lead designer, Mike Laidlaw, finds that DA2 has some of his favorite writing of any BioWare game to date.

"[Baldur's Gate 2] had characters that were incredibly memorable," Laidlaw tells News10's Game Guys. "Characters like Edwin or Minsc with his crazed crusade against all things evil. And I think that what we deliver with Dragon Age 2 a deeper tactical experience."

In fact, Laidaw says that the game actually does a better job at making the party work together. Working together is a big part of the game and is essential for defeating the game's tougher foes.

"Our characters, our story we're telling I think is incredibly memorable," concluded Laidlaw.

Right :rolleyes:

Who else got the signature edition whilst it was still available?

There seems to be so much bumpf thrown in with it:

# Premium Packaging (silver foil will be used)
# Coupon code to get the Day 1 DLC for free
# Download Code for the Soundtrack
# Exclusive in Game Items: Might of Sten (2 Handed Sword), Apostate’s Courage (Staff), Adder of Antiva (Bow), Seeker’s Bulwark (Shield)

The Day 1 DLC is for The Exiled Prince

Then there is all the standard DLC thrown in as well:
* Mabari War Hound
* Mirror of Transformation
* Lion of Orlais Sheild
* Fadeshear Sword
* Magic and Crafting Stores

Then because I read the Penny Arcade comic and signed up for newsletter I get the Staff of Parthalan and Hindsight. If I then play the demo or the Facebook game I get a bucket load more.

Quite pathetic really.

Apparently, some dlc wont be offered by amazon if you bought the signature edition but you will receive it if you get the standard version. Personally, i hate pre release and store specific dlc, if it is already made it should be included in all copies of the game.

So where is the best place to buy DA2 from? I was going to get it off Steam for the convience of Steam itself, but now it seems I must shop about.

If its anything like Dragon Age... the bonus items will all be on torrent sites within days for you to dl. Its what i did to remedy the fact Bioware made the UK DDE version ****e. All these preorder items are becoming a farce.

It's not often I get to use 'lol' and actually mean it, but this was one of those times :D

I love how they effectively say 'tin foil' but made it sound expensive :p

If the demos good I'll pre-order from where ever's cheapest.

Can't be doing with all this "BUY FROM US AND GET X, BUY FROM THEM AND GET Y" bullcrap.
