Any protein based drinks that I just add water to? (Can't drink milk)r

Is there no scoop in the tub? sometimes they can end up buried so you might have to search around a bit.
Whats your diet like at the moment?

Yea seemed a bit low to me as well : \ Think hemp is always going to be a little bit lower than whey but I'm just guessing with that statement. My diet is pretty raw but crap in terms of intake / calories.

I eat 3 small breasts of chicken every day at lunch without fail. Always have an apple and a sandwich and dinner in the evening which is usually a very nutritious meal packed full with vegetables. My breakfast is usually something very small such as a couple of toasted muffins. I eat ZERO processed foods and drink over 6 pints of water a day.

If you have recommendations please remember that I don't eat dairy :)

Hey guys,

I went out and bought this!

I run 30 mins a day and lift some light weight weights. Just looking to tone up really and considering I can't eat dairy it'll be a helpful protein source. Anyway, how much of this stuff should I take a day? 1 serving is 30g but it says 2 scoops! How the hell am i meant to measure a 'scoop'?

thanks :)

*cries*

:p

Why are you doing light weights? Doing heavy weights isn't going to turn you into a beast, but it may help you to reach your goal faster.

As for how much to take, it entirely depends on your diet and current weight. If you can provide details of these people will be able tell you how much to take.

But generally speaking, you'll probably want to have at least 30g worth of protein per go. Did the tub not come with a scoop?

Edit: Try to eat some protein at breakfast too, eggs are the easiest option.

Any idea of the weights of any of the protein sources you eat?

Thanks mate ^^

Evening meals are usually things such as

Roast Dinners (-yorkshire pudding)
Sweet and Sour and chicken
Curry (with some sort of chicken)
Spag Bol
Fish and Chips / Scampi with mushy peas
Stir Fry
Gammon Egg and chips
Chili
Salmon and potatoes

Most meals every night have at least 2 vegetables in them , usually broccoli, peas, carrots, green beans, etc

My daily food intake like I say is usually low in calories, such as

Breakfast
Toasted Muffin with dairy free butter x 2 + Water

Lunch
3 x Chicken breasts
Sandwich - usually contains ham, salad cream, tomatoes
Apple

Dinner
Large portion of whatever my the evening meal is listed above.

Always have 6+ Pints of water a day
Take 1 x 25mg Zinc supplement a day
Take 2 x Apple Cider Vinegar supplements

I feel as if I'm only getting around 600 calories at dinner, 400 at lunch and probably 200 at breakfast = 1200 which is no where near enough for a 21 year old male! I'm 6ft 1 and weigh 10 stone.

I DO NOT want to get 'big', I just want to get toned and have more muscle definition. To put it frank my aim is to have a body that no longer looks like a child's.... If anyone could advise me the best way to incorporate the hemp powder into my diet and how much I should be taking that would be much appreciated (I'll be taking it with coconut milk) I run 25 mins a day at a decent pace and am going to incorporate some weight lifting into my regime.

I've used this hemp powder before:

It's not to everyone's taste - but I quite like it. :)

As for not getting big - don't worry mate, you won't. It takes YEARS of hard work and eating and sleeping and lifting a stupid amounts of weight. You won't put on a lot of muscle - it's hard work, harder than losing weight or staying slim.

However as icecold has said, go heavy on the weights - it'll held broaden you up and boost your test levels a little to develop your "boys" body into a bit of a broad masculine body.

You need more calories than 1200 - but you're just guessing your values. Furthermore, Your breakfast needs to be more substantial and contain more protein - protein is good in the morning as it helps bring your body into a less catabolic state, further more, it'll keep you fuller for longer.

Don't forget lots of green veggies! Power foods! Don't forget to get some good fats, like nuts, olive oils, oily fish, avocados etc... into your diet.

If you are 10st at that height then you need to put on muscle. Losing body fat will give you definition but will make you look horribly skinny.
IMO you need a clean bulk and some challenging weights for to to male some progression.
Probably need to eat 3x the kcals you are now :p

Open to suggestions on my diet :)

I can eat eggs btw! Some people get confused and think they're dairy

My breakfast is protein-tastic. Bowl of Muesli, 2 slices of white bread dipped in 1 egg and griddled with lemon juice (eggy bread) with 2x eggs scrambled on top. And of course 1.5 scoops whey.

If I'm in a rush I'll just have the muesli (amazing for you) and whey.

How much sugar is in your muesli as I know a lot of them are almost as unhealthy as kids chocolate cereal just down to the amount of sugar they manage to cram into them and the fact no one really just eats the 30g serving.

That's not really protein tastic dude. That's quite carb heavy to me :p It's the whey that helps.

^^ I was going to say the same thing! Sponge iirc you want to be on a cleanish bulk, get rid of that white bread.

Muesli isn't amazing for you either, you can certainly get good ones but in general I'd much rather have complete control of what I'm eating.

Gustov,

Eat more! Eggs are great if you can't think of anything else for breakfast. Generally speaking it's good to consume ~30g of protein shortly after waking. This helps to turn on your metabolism and stops you from preserving fat.

From the sound of things though what you really want to do is build some muscle onto your frame. Don't worry about gaining too much, the method is the same no matter how much you want to build, you just stop sooner if you want less.

Also, why are you running? This might sound like a silly question, but it's important to know your goals. If your running for fat loss, stop it now (unless I've misread and you need to drop significant bodyfat). You problems is that not enough of the calories that you eat are going into building and maintaining muscle. One important way to combat this is stop burning calories for other purposes. The other ways are to eat more and condition your body to shuttle more calories to your muscles for protein synthesis, which involves training and diet.

To help you much further, we need to know things like your height and weight, and an indication of body fat.

What brand of Muesli do you have? I could have it with coconut milk! It's so expensive though :(

Just out of curiosity, have you ever tried lactofree, lactase tablets, or goats' milk? I am lactose intolerant, but lactofree milk I'm fine with, I haven't tried lactase tablets yet, but intend to, and I'm fine with goats' milk too, which I've moved on to from lactofree milk. The goats' milk I get from tesco is actually nicer than cows' milk too.

Thanks mate, why am I running? Just to tone up, also I've been stuck in my house since graduating (working 1 day a week) and need something to get my head clear.

I'm 6ft 1 and weight 10 stone. I'm guessing my bodyfat is low.

What's the best way to cook the eggs guys? Remembering scrabled is quite hard for me because of milk.

Whilst I've been diagnosed with lactose intolerance, the main reason I don't eat dairy is because it never fails to break me out in pimples! :(

That's a ****ter. I'm also lactose intolerant and found lactofree fantastic, though expensive! I really should change my diet lol
