Slow cookers are awesome. Slow cooked lamb shanks cannot be replicated easily.

Brown the meat just to seal it. Whack it in the slow cooker. Add veg. Add some liquid. Red wine, ale, whatever. You cannot go wrong really.

As above except you can't seal any meat; only brown it.
