Neil.

I really do like the 205 GTi, nice !

How much can I expect to sell a brand new Trek 7500 2011 for? Will be fresh built from Evans, cost £699.99

Is £575-£600 realistic bearing in mind it literally will be sold brand new and unused?

I'm looking at getting myself a new bike and getting back into biking again this summer. I used to do it years ago but since moving to Liverpool I just haven't really got round to it. My current bike is about 10 years old and needs some new parts so I figured I might as well get a newer one.

I've been looking at second hand bikes, mainly the 2008/09/10 Hardrock and Rockhopper as I quite like them. Is it worth spending the extra and trying to get myself a Rockhopper or will the Hardrock do? I know the frame and parts will be slightly better on the Rockhopper..

Yeah I would say it's better going for a Rockhopper, in the long run it will be worth it as the components used on the Hardrock range arn't all that, you just don't feel as if your money has been well spent if you know what I mean.

Yeh thats what I was thinking! :)

There isn't too much difference in price with the second hand ones either. I'm not in any rush to get one, as long as I have it before June, so I'll just keep my eyes open and see what crops up! :)

Love my 2010 Rockhopper, it's a cracking bike.

I think a lot has to do with personal preference. I got on fine with Eggbeaters but Purplehead was "bit of a nonce".

Colour coordination spotted on Ichabod's build. Red headset and red bars.

lol, funny video, a few months ago i did the XC running race there and tons of people fell over on that very hill as it was straight out of a tight bend, insane running course very hard:D

What size have you got and how tall are you? I'm 5'10 so border line for 17.5" and 19". I'm thinking the 17.5" would probably be better.. Will probably have to get down to my local shop in the week and sit on a couple to try them!

6'2 and took the 19"

Just spent a few hours in the garage, I have a replacement frame coming but thought I would go an make sure there are no more hidden surprises with the Tracer and that my hose lengths are ok.

My discovery has been that VPP is the future. It is super plush!!! It is going to be an Amazing bike, just testing it out on the street it has a lovely ride position and just feels spot on!

Me right now >>> :D

Treated the Pinarello to an OCD type cleaning session this afternoon, cassette, derailleurs and chain are spotless now. Was going to try and get out on it this afternoon for a quick training loop but as usual when you are on a mad cleaning and polishing frenzy, time flew by and before I knew it, 1.30pm had arrived which meant visiting the folks for the afternoon with the newborn. :)

Planning on getting up early tomorrow and enjoying a crisp, clear mornings cycling.
