why is life so boring!

I hate threads making me feel old, I'm still too young for that :p

At 16, I was playing a lot of guitar, giving up on upgrading my PC every 5 minutes, sitting round a fire in a random field chatting nonsense, going round to friends' houses and just...talking/finding things to do. It was never really an issue - though come to think of it, I've no idea how we spent all day at school together, all evening talking online and then still filled whole days together at the weekends. I guess having a mixed sex friendship group with lots of drama and suspicions helped keep it interesting :p Worked on Saturdays to save up and let me go to Italy with my best friend for 2 weeks in the Summer, went for nighttime wanders in the countryside, took photos wherever I went, found a whole load of new music I'd never discovered, and started getting in to sound/lighting, which led me on to a whole new group of friends and experiences.

Also, we released a line of tshirts with a bunch of designs my slightly demented friend created and sold them in school - made a decent bit of money at the time, counted as a project and was good fun too.

Basically, there's loads to do, get involved in something which doesn't involve your friends and their...I can't bring myself to use that word, but y'know, the things that make those vile noises.

well this thread has just ruined the classic joke.......

Having sex with a fat girl is like riding a moped. It's a lot of fun, just don't let your friends find out.

Seeing as all his mates as well as the OP want to ride a moped :( :D

Mopeds are only cool between 16 and 17, because it's the only motorised thing you're allowed to drive at that age. Nobody will be on one any more once they start driving.

I wish I'd used my boredom at the weekends more fruitfully as a teen - the weather's getting nice now - hop out on a pushbike and go visit someone, or just ride around in the sun.

I did that yesterday, visited the two little city farms in Bristol on a lovely sunny day. Bit saddlesore now though having not ridden for months - happy days :)

Then what does the bit about "an upgrade or a ped" refer to then? upgrade of what?

I'm just going to put my lack of familiarity with this term down to kids being indecipherable morons.

You're just baiting here.

You can understand what he's saying, or you are an idiot and choose not to understand what he's saying.

Hmm he's going to turn 16 and is thinking about getting a 'ped' wonder what that could be -.- I mean seriously can you not work it out? And as for that being indecipherable, have you never shortened a word before in your life?

And as for an upgrade, I mean really, look in the top left of your screen, Oh funny that! We're on OcUK a computer hardware shop and we are on it's forum. What do you think the upgrade is about now?

So next time you call someone you don't know a moron, please, take the time to think before you post.

I wish i had nothing to do, i have so many films, TV series, and video games to play that if i was made redundant now it would take 3-4 years to go through it all

Dude if you're bored at our age then I feel sorry for you. Clearly your friends arn't right for you, basically all of my friends enjoy games and sport we hang out on the weekend go on the common kick a ball about have a chat etc...

When it's after school we play on our Xbox's to once again chat and interact with each other.

If your friends are the 'peds' type people then I feel sorry for you, around here they are all idiots and are the type that flunk school and become drug dealers.

Do what I'm doing save up for a car or a 'proper' motorbike. Don't forget to upgrade your system or your inner geek will feel sad :p

lol, was just having abit of a downer day yesterday, and yes i got an a* in my last English exam, and b's in course work so i can  I've sorted my self out with what to do now and not being bored, thanks to some of the more helpful ocuk members :D going to watch anuthvahood tonight :)

Talk Talk are kings!

I'd imagine life seems boring because there is such a lack of imagination from the OP, that a moped seems like the only way out.

Don't get a moped... Get a proper mountain bike. It'll be fun, allow you to meet more people if you get into it and more importantly... It'll stop you riding around on a moped like a wee ned.

ahhh this thread takes me back to the very early eightys ,i had a pre 1977 (ie unrestricted) suzuki 50 overbored and ported and rejetted ect ,was in the same position for a while but as i was restoring my bike my mates would call round to our house and we would just mess around with each others bikes ,then on my 16th i was ready to go ,as no cbt in those days ,not even for my gp125 at 17.
cant knock this lifestyle ,it was an amazing time

i was bored when i was 16/17, as soon as i hit 18 im always down the pub with my friends :D

also. dont get a ped. get a push bike. or if your serious about 2 wheels. wait and get a proper motorbike

So playing footy in the park over the age of 13 is uncool

"Peds" are the very height of coolness

Being seen out with your parents at the age of 16 is cool, especially going to the cinema with them

I'm glad I wasn't cool at your age :)
