***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

Played it for a bit now. Before loading up, i went straight for the config file and tweaked some settings such as motion blur because i heard people complaining about it.
Cranked everything up pretty high.
It looks absolutely stunning. i've only played an hour, but enjoying it so far.

AGGGGGHHHHHH.....

I have the Steam version and whenever i press Right Shift to jump.... the steam overlay thing appears

This game is seriously overheating my 4870x2 which im a bit confused about considering that i have been playing AC Brotherhood maxed out and looks stunning, whilst this looks rather average

Also, as soon as Crysis 2 has loaded up, I can hear that strange CPU buzzing noise, which changes tone when i move the mouse about :(

Getting about 30-40fps on 'Very High' @ 1080p w/ Vsync on my X4 640 and 5770 512mb.

The lower ram on the 5770 is probably hurting it a bit, but its more than playable.

Had a look in Afterburner, and at one point in 1080 at extreme setting (or whatever it's called), it was using 921MB of vram, so looks like they've targetted it for 1GB cards if running at max detail.

Wonder why the game only has a 32bit exe, the leaked beta had 32 and 64 bit.

Looks like some stuff has been intentionally held back, coming with the much hyped dx11 patch maybe?

Can this game be installed on upto 5 machines as per previous DRM games. Want to know if I can install this on my friends machine for this weekend as well as my own when I get back.

You can remap or disable the overly via your Steam client.

view > settings > ingame
Yeah i tried that but it still kept appearing....

But ive got it working now, set it to Scroll Lock :)

Just tried that Advanced Graphics Config app, very well to wasdie for making it, now I'm able to tweak the settings, the game to look nicer and runs cooler :D

I would assume that would use up one of the installs.

I remember when i got Stalker Clear Sky, i installed it on my laptop to see if it could run it.

Then on on my pc, first on Vista64, then on XP64 to see if it ran better. When i went back to Vista i was told I had run out of installs

Ended up having to use a nocd crack to play a game i had bought

Yea I'm kinda regretting not getting the 1Gb version! :p

May just get another one and Crossfire them for 1.5Gb total. If thats how it works :D

Jesus someone was complaining about the rubbish AI and being seen in sewers while no line of sight to anyone, its a complete joke.

If I decloak and no one can see me, I'm in a sewer or hidden anywhere theres as much chance they'll shout out "he's decloaked/cloaked" and magically know my location. Not that it matters, its so painfully easy most of the time they can't seem to badly damage you. This is why I hate auto-regen health, makes everything so easy.

Been in a sewer got in cloaked, no one near the entrance, all the guys at the other end shouted out and threw a nade down, it was round a corner and a good distance away, the AI is beyond retarded and seems to clearly be based on your actions. IE you cloak and the engine tells the enemies to respond, its got nothing to do with AI seeing you do something, but your actions triggering either directly, or maybe having a chance to trigger a certain enemy response.

Gah, it is hard to play a game you think will be bad, you're not quite in the mood to enjoy it, if in a better mood you might overlook some of the bad stuff in the game. Though I have a feeling no matter what mood I started playing the game in, the epically rubbish and impossible AI stuff would have wound me up.

Unfortunately the game has got SO many incredibly basic things completely wrong, like the AI, it wants to give you the option to stealth an area, yet, stealth is broken in that sense. I can walk through almost any area cloaked with a silly amount of energy "stealthed", but the stealth option of dropping into a sewer where they can't possibly see me, utterly fails?

Mine still hasn't arrived from jersey shore, they're useless for posting to scotland. But sounds like I'm not missing much.

Download this and I have everything on high, shadows on medium, motion blur off (doesn't work yet..but when it does I want it off).
MSAA/Edge AA off because of crossfire flickering issues.

Does anyone know where the config file is on the PC version so it can be modded? I have looked in the game directory/user folder/appdata and cannot find it. (the one in the user folder saved games is auto generated on Crysis opening)

Also is there a console command in the retail version (tried the usual `)

I ask because I have much more fun having all weapons/ultimated energy playing Crysis games.

Yea, yea I know what you all thinking, big fat cheater :)
