Thus, according to the character Pausanias in Plato's Symposium,[19] Aphrodite is two goddesses, one older the other younger. The older, Urania, is the "heavenly" daughter of Uranus, and inspires homosexual male (and more specifically, ephebic) love/eros

So we'll agree that I'm right and that her sculptures have magnificent chebbs.

Its all that coming out business that intrigues me, what do they do multi text message or a visit in person and explain?

Interesting Castiel. I blame religion for homophobia.

I agree, mostly because I hate religion. And gays.

Nah I don't hate gays, I live with a lesbian and a gay, and we all get on really well. In fact they're both more manly than me lol

firstly, im not homophobic, im not anti-gay or anything. Im just curious about something.

To the gay folk, why are you gay? Obviously that sounds ridiculous, as they are feelings and you cant control em, but there is no way your born gay so what was it that made you gay? how can you not love the titties?

LOL, just LOL

Iv given this some thought in the last 10 minutes and iv decided if my time ever comes, im gonna go with multi text messages to everyone i know :D

It's not the time coming you need to watch out for...if you catch my drift. :p

anyway, why multi text message? It's the age of social networking.
Twitter your way out that cloest, boy!

All those societies died off because of obvious reasons . . .

Those societies didn't die, they are the underpinnings of much of Western Society. Society is an organic process.

Greek Gods = No Gay God (Yet they have a god for everything)

Dionysus, Poseidon, Heracles, Apollo, Hermes, Zeus and several others all have myths where they had homosexual relationships.

Rome = Incest was normal (Enough said)

Well it is not enough said, because it simply indicates that Sexual preference was not a thing of taboo and that Romans were very open about their sexuality rather than repressive about it.
Native American = Not True, show facts

In Navajo tradition, Ahsonnulti is Hermaphroditic. In the Inuit and Pomo tradition the first humans were males, they became to want company and mated, and one became pregnant. A spell was cast which changed his sex and to make him able to give birth. Homosexual men in these cultures were seen as divine because of this.

Medieval Christian societies = What ? Medieval Christian societies, you mean church ? Crusade ? Medieval YMCA?

No, I mean in the Nobility, it was common, only becoming frowned upon toward the later 12/13 centuries. Nobility often sealed treaties by sleeping together as a mark of trust.

Never make the mistake that I can't back up what I say. And I am not Gay either, so "gay lies" is kind of a daft thing to accuse me of.

*RUNS REALLY FAR AWAY FROM THREAD*

Religion only reflected the trend in Societies at the time. Texts were reinterpreted, and previous discarded scripture came to the fore, hence a sudden emphasis on the Old Testament from about 1400 or so.

The problem with blaming religion is that religion is only a tool of society and culture. It take cultural changes to influence how religions are interpreted. So it wasn't religion to blame, it was a change in cultural and societal thinking.
