Should be included in your data bundle, if not yes. google your providers apn. I.e Google T-MobileAPN

It's very easy to unlock the SGS

Depends on who you are with.
Some providers offer PAYG bolt-ons for data.
Have a look at Giffgaff.

As said, it depends but it won't be per minute. Either daily charge, monthly bolt-on or on per kb/mb basis

Do a search for SGS Unlock Pro. It only costs a couple of quid and works like a charm

Just a recommendation for a useful bit of kit for anyone who likes to try and brick there SGS...my phone is fine at the moment but i bought this jig to get into download mode from a UK seller on ebay for £5. Tested by me and works a treat.

the 10.x is his gingerbread roms so I guess 9.xx was just for froyo, have to say its a worth a upgrade from 9.3.

Just follow the vid its really simple, flash jv1, then flash the gingerbread kernel by supercrio then go into clockwork and install the rom, all went without a hitch.

Just gonna restort my apps and try it for a day and ill let you know how it goes guys

Got my phone today, big change from a Windows 6.1

As I've not used Android before I'll refrain from any rom testing for a while, although I did perform the upgrade from eclair to froyo.

Is it a 'release' or is it still a beta? The thread on XDA suggests it's a beta, or am I mistaken here?

Personally, I'm still on Darky's 9.3. 9.4 and 9.5 just don't seem as fast or stable, and v10 b3 is obviously unfinished. 9.3 is sweet. Only bad points are Wifi, which doesn't like all the access points I use (minor problem) and the call sounds are nasty (i.e. the noise it makes when connecting and disconnecting). Apart from that, sweet!

Also, for anyone who loves that Gingerbread lock screen animation, it is possible to get it on your SGS, but not perfectly. In order not to wear out the power button (need to keep this phone for 2 years+!), I've mapped lock screen to a swipe of the app drawer button (using launcherpro). You can download a program from the market called 'screen off and lock' and then map the gesture on the launcherpro dock to run that app. In the configuration settings, you can select 'delay lock' and then choose an animation. I think it's called 'old tv'. Very cool! If you didn't understand that, ask me to clarify and I will.
