***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

Fun game to play on the PC and fully optimized for the 360 gamepad. CryEngine 3 was designed for game consoles in mind which just leaves the enthusiastic PC gamer wanting more from CryEngine.

must say enjoying the game not rushing through it doing a level everytime i have a break from bfbc2 or cod 4 .

just done lvl 5 which really enjoyed.

i still think that the game would be greatly improved if they took out the tactical options thing when you get to each new area. You should be able to turn it off and work through the level yourself

I finished the game last night. I was rather disappointed and wasn't expecting the game to be over like that. I thought it was another cut scene and not the final stage.

I didn't see the point in having the 4 aliens with a claoking device at the end of the game. They should have been in and out of the game earlier on as you recieve 5000 nano points after each kill, but with the game ending shortly afterwards, you can't do anything with the add-ons you buy anyway

I was hoping it was going to be an improvement over the first game, with the playable features of the character and the suit powers. I thought that there was going to be more upgrades between attack, defense and stealth and speed, which would make the game more a personal choce for the player. :(

Finished this last night. in my honest opinion crysis & warhead were far better games. 2 has far to many invisible walls and very little fredom. Felt far to much like i was playing " Call of duty - super suit edition", with the suit telling u what to do constantly, being funneled exactly where the devs want u to go.
If i had wanted to play ******* cod i would have bought cod !

Oh no, that is what I did not want. Might leave this til it's cheaper. Think I'll go back and play the originals, now that I can probably play them with decent fps for the first time.

Wish people would stop moaning about the 'funneling' and tactical view. If you are so amazing at the game and wish to go without, just don't use it, think of your own approaches to the situation. Also, the original crysis wasn't totally free-roaming, it basically was a large area, with a few secondary objectives dotted around with a primary objective on the other side, so you had freedom to roam around mostly useless generic areas, wow.

I've really been enjoying Crysis 2 so far, my bugbear is the fact I can't get on multiplayer, stupid network connectivity error issue

For any last members who DON'T think this is a port - lol
Who plays on a TV anyway? 10 year olds?

Flickering still exists with ATI cards even with 11.3 - pish!

Anyone had any memory leak problems?

Game completely froze for about 10 seconds and then went on fine. Seen some reports of stuttering after awhile as well.

I have this problem, only on multiplayer though. The last memory leak problem i had was in Borderlands on 10.7 or 10.8 drivers, and the only way to fix that was to disable Catalyst A.I. or revert back to 10.5 drivers with the hotfix, so i might give that a whirl.

The game has been running for hours fine on my PC at max detail, 45fps with only the odd bit of stuttering once in a while when starting a new level. I've got an i5 760 @ Stock, GTX 460 @800, and 4gb RAM.The GPU seems to be running almost constantly at 99% utilisation during gameplay.

I've got no issues at all with performance or single player bugs. It's an exceptionally well performing game considering the level of eye-candy on screen. The checkpoint save system is another matter...

no flickering here after mod [ati 6950 cf]

only payed a few mins, and that says it all, not that good, definitely hasnt got the smoothness and polish of the original [such as the suit change with the mouse], just feels unfinished, i also find it crowded, in as such its had to make out whats happening, cant tell where things are coming from, it seems more frantic than crysis 1 and i dont like that, the graphics are so so, obviously not as good as crysis 1, FPS is fine for me, 50-60 mostly with vsync,

i like crysis one so much, it was probably as close ive come to my perfect FPS style game, stealth, multitude of options on how to play, open, beautiful.

my main gripe i guess with this is just how it feels awkward to play not difficult, awkward, that for me is worse than the graphics or anything else.. its missing a lot that crysis 1 had, but the console feel is hardest to take

they should have called it something different, you cant help but compare a sequel to the original and hope for better, especially as its 3 years newer!

i guess another thing i liked with 1 was none of this upgrade which i havent a clue what it is yet, everything you needed was there from the moment you clicked the begin campaign button. i hate faff.. i dont do multiplayer either

Joined a few games now where people are flying high up in the sky and sniping, unfortuently they are also glitching about and so are really hard to hit :(

How insulting. I do for that matter. When I want to play driving games I take the PC through to the room where the playseat is with the TV on the wall. When it's regular PC games it's back in the main room for the TFT.

Yea the fps to eye candy ratio is amazing.

It had me thinking, that this is the level where future COD games need to be interms of the graphics!

The future would be better without COD... Too many 9-13 year olds play it  It's become worst. Every time a new game comes out you notice in the older games you don't get the annoying whiny kids playing any more and the games themselves are getting worst with each new release its just become a cash cow.

But yeah Crysis 2 runs really nice on max settings on my PC :) I enjoyed the campaign so is it worth playing the MP? Is the cheating that bad?
