I think Crysis 2 should open infinity wards eyes, as thats the type of engine they NEED to use in order to not get left behind when B3 comes out.

Imagine a COD game with those graphics! Plays well and looks good.

Thats really pathetic if you want to change drivers that hinders it. Have you to email them or what, I assume it'll take a while to reset the activation?

must be the only person on earth who prefers Crysis II graphics to the original game, looks a lot less 'artificial' than the first game, unless you were using some heavyweight custom settings. the new one is capable of incredible things once tweaking begins, sure of that without a doubt.

I've been playing this for a few hours now and I'm delighted with how it runs and looks. Well playable on Extreme settings but much smoother on very high settings. Not one glitch or gremlin, I cannot believe that DX9 can look so damn good.

I am enjoying it. The only thing I'm not enjoying is when the game saves are going to kick in. It's been a long number of years since I've played any major fps games I'm getting killed quite easily.

dont see what everyone is complaining about tbh, its looks really good for dx9.
i was expecting it to be terrible from some comments on here about crappy textures and so on.

artificial is the bloom in crysis 2
and lets tweak these first then

once all the bloom and blur is gone it looks nothing special
(all maxed out minus the bloom on the advanced graphics tool)

ai also keeps blowing them selfs up with grenades in that room,second chopper that arrives with rockets can also see me cloaked and through walls :/
the shooting is fun and i do really like the design of the two new pistols but the closed nature,invisible walls and crap ai and the fact that sprinting always drains you suit powers (might as well have just called it fatigue) is spoiling it for me :/
suit voice is getting on my nerves too "tactical options available!"

Right click on the game shortcut and select 'Deauthorize'... and hope.

It's obvious that someone left a Polaroid Instamatic on the front seat and the seismic shift just knocked it onto the footwell and it started going off.

Seriously though, there is sooo much good stuff going on with this game that I can forgive the odd glitch and honestly, can't say I've noticed. It's early doors yet with a brand new game engine ... compare to Black Ops 5 months on with an old game engine

Looks like the lights of the car are being turned on and off to me.
Another bug I noticed was when in a vehicle you turn the lights on and it makes the inside brighter and radiates around the vehicle evenly instead of having a source from the headlight :confused:

I noticed the effect in one of those trucks with a gun ontop. It was not fully armoured so you could see the player model clearly inside and when the lights turned on the model will be saturated with light and it lit up a cargo container beside me more then it lit up the road ahead.

I assume they couldn't be arsed putting light sources in the correct place, focused in a single direction or more then one per vehicle so they just put it in the middle.

Finished this last night. in my honest opinion crysis & warhead were far better games. 2 has far to many invisible walls and very little fredom. Felt far to much like i was playing " Call of duty - super suit edition", with the suit telling u what to do constantly, being funneled exactly where the devs want u to go.
If i had wanted to play ******* cod i would have bought cod !

All this talk of "it's not realistic enough" is getting silly... This is the problem with graphics getting closer to looking photo realistic. It's easier to pick out the slight deficiencies when it's so close to what we are used to in real life, but the fact is that all of the stuff your talking about are the trade offs you have to make to get that level of realism to run in REAL TIME on a flipping home computer...

Some of it is glitchy, but only because of the corners they've tried to cut to get performance out of the engine, and probably because you are trying to run the game on settings that your graphics hardware can't handle. Seperate card SLI and Xfire are always going to add glitches because the methods for splitting the workload aren't perfect.

To the guy who said that the little details like diving down from mid jump ruins a game for him... why in hell did you buy a science fiction game?!

If your not having fun playing with this (and I'll remind you again, it's a game, not a simulation of real life) you're doing it wrong!

Do you mean that crappy shooter called COD Modern Warfare 3, if so that was a dreadful game.... timed missions and way too linear, it drove me crazy, this Crysis 2 seems to be getting worst the more threads that i read

surely it cant be as bad as COD :eek:

the one thing that we must all understand is :- if you make the graphics super realistic, then you wont be able to play the game on a top end pc, it'll be like the first game, too high a spec for a modern pc!

but the problem is this game isn't even a good shooter (from what i've read here) because everyone is noticing the graphics and not mentioning fantastic gameplay

finally, the graphics is nowhere near photo realistic.... it's only about 30% there, even in the 1st game, what it is, is far more realistic than existing games, that's all; therefore it looks great.
