Lot of stories yesterday/today about us being in for Nasri, funny how these things come out when he's negotiating a new contract :/

Wouldn't say no though :)

A 'ITK' posted on City forum last week about Nasri, done deal apparently.
Probably no truth in it but would happily take him. Would be a great signing.

Like you said there's no truth in it, just Nasri's agent getting his client in the papers to bump up Arsenal's contract offer. I'd be shocked if he left Arsenal this summer

Who is 'us'? Sorry. :o

Man Utd :)

Well i dont remember seeing Nasri linked to us in the paper. It was just an 'ITK' who has posted a few times before and been true i think. So maybe some substance.

I hope Nasri goes, major attitude problems, utterly inept when the pressure is on, dissappears in most big games, and in many just tough games, we've been woeful lately while relying on him. 100k a week, smashing basically what we've paid everyone before, for a guy who has 10 goals is it, 1 assist, and in the important last 4 months, 2 goals no assists?

I've said it before, he's not a striker, and he's not a winger, which makes him incredibly limited in usefulness. In "easier" games where we're under less pressure he gets more in the box and grabs a few goals, in harder games he doesn't get those chances, creates nothing for anyone else, and isn't very good actually on the wing either going forward from the half way line or in our half.

What Arsenal need is wingers on either side capable of taking the ball from the half way line to the box and either crossing/passing it in or on the other side getting in on the back post and offer meaningful defensive support.

Arsenal have plenty of players who are capable but really only in the final third, Arshavin, Nasri, Theo, they aren't wide players and rarely do anything unless they get the ball in the final third.

Playing an actual striker upfront, or an actual winger on the wing would be far more effective than Nasri. 100k a week, more than Fabregas, Gallas ever got, anyone else gets, after one very not brilliant season is utter madness for someone who constantly complains about wages.

Pires's best seasons were what 16 goals in the league and 8-10 assists, 25 goals maybe in all competitions, Nasri gets no where near that and wants to be rewarded as pretty much the best played member of the squad? Essentially Nasri has been our second striker this season and has 10 league goals playing most games. AS a second striker his stats aren't good enough for a title winning side, as a winger, lack of assists, lack of big performances, still not a massive goal scoring tally, aren't good enough, as a replacement Fabregas, he was abysmal and Arsenal failed completely while he filled in that role.

Attitude, someone asked him to move seats on a bus years ago and he won't shake Gallas's hands, then is poor in the games while Gallas shines. Nasri can **** off frankly.

I've been told by my Arsenal supporting mate that Nasri's future is linked to Fabregas's but not in the way you'd think. Supposedly, Nasri will leave if Fabregas stays or vice versa.

I think that may be true. All of Nasri's best games have been played when he's played in "Fabregas's" position, and obviously he loses that when Fabregas plays.

Some encouraging quotes coming from Reina and not just on his own future but that of the club as a whole:

It's not mentioned in the above article but he was directly asked about joining Utd and he answered, 'never'

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY.
Bought his shirt the other day at the match, last time i got a certain someones name on the back he left 2 months later:( , was tempting fate with Reina at the time but maybe not now :D.
Sexy bald man.

I've been taking much of what footballers say in terms of loyalty lately with a large pinch of salt, but if he is serious about this then that is absolutely great news. Reina is vital to Liverpool, not just for his skills but also for his off the pitch personality, from what I've read he seems like quite the prankster off the pitch (little like Grobbelaar was) and I've no doubt that his personality is well liked by the other players.

I'd rather we didnt spend 12 million on Phil Jones though

LOL at DM's hate for Nasri. So pathetic.

Get your facts straight. You are incredibly wrong about most things. You are such an *******. Ha.
As pathetic as the little peanut gallery you have going on there? Want to actually enter discussion rather than insult without any dialogue?

uncalled for insults removed.[/

See if it was me I wouldn't result to personal insults, I'd say where you were wrong.

Firstly, yes, Nasri and Gallas argued over Nasri sitting in Henry's seat when away with the french national side, this is well known.

Secondly, Spurs, a team I regard as simply not as good as Arsenal(no need to get all insulted Spurs fans, I'm not saying they are rubbish, just not as good) managed to get more points than us out of our two games, who did better in those games, Gallas or Nasri.

AS for my hate for Nasri, either he's a midfielder with next to no assists for the season, or he's a withdrawn striker without a great striking rate, we're seemingly about to make him the second best paid member of the squad, after an average season. Please point out where I "hate" Nasri or where he's shown a mature attitude consistantly or where he's been brilliant for us this season.

I'm not happy about giving 100k a week to a guy who has 1 assist and plays supposedly as a creative midfielder, and appears to want to play in Cesc's position, where he's been awful when asked to play there. Thats apparently doubling his salary, for having a season half as good as Pires/Freddie's best seasons.

I'd rather spend £12m on him than £15m+ on Cahill. From what I've seen Jones looks like he's got the potential to be top class. Also at his age we'd be able to gradually integrate him into the side where as a Cahill (or similar) would expect to be first choice, and I'm not totally convinced he's ready for that.
Somewhat coincidentally after it became clear our quota of potential Spanish keepers was filled for the coming year.

Your quota got filled after he told you where to go :)
I think Baz is trolling as Tom is as much a Manc(hester United fan) as Baz has an afro and steals car radios.

It's a perm :p

edit: SSN are reporting that Liverpool are keeping an eye on Joey Barton's contract situation :o

I suppose he is the best midfielder in England though

In all seriousness I do think that it being widely publicised the Champions-Elect were going in after De Gea for the past few weeks played a part in Reina suddenly 'coming out' against vicious rumours. Why not before now?

It's a perm :p
It compliments the Adidas tracksuit quite nicely sir.
