we buy any car LOL @ my quote

Ok, the reason webuyanycar are so cheap there prices are all CAP average then -£250 per defect simples. Even if you rolled up in a brand spanking new car with 1 mile on it it's valued at CAP average therefore always less than a great price.

Auctions are not too bad tbh, Just buy an ex-fleet motor and you can usualy be sure that it will have FSH, guaranteed mileage, Log book (many cars in auctions dont have logbooks but is not a bad sign), Have a poke around and listen to it get started also have a look at the dash for lights on the way into the hall :)

A mate of mine had just tried his 51 plate Omega 2.2 - they offered him £50 which is iirc what their admin charge is!

He'll end up owing them if he's not careful!

A few people have paid them to take cars away, before.......and of course, when they're settling finance, many end up owing them up to several thousand. Kerching!

I think it is fair to say though that 85%+ of people will be happy with what they buy there, and risky compared to what? Buying a car from a dealer with potentially just as many problems, backed up by a £80 warranty that won't cover most things.

Not being horrible but you aint bought many cars from auctions have you :)

Yea my 197 came from BCA Nottingham, not had a single problem with it, it was a finance snatchback, my dad used to buy lots of fleet cars from there as well for managers etc at a company he used to work at and had no problems with any of them either.

The cars are cheap, so even if there is something wrong with them at least there the right money to start with, there must have been 200+ 10/09/59 plate BMW's of various types including minis all fetching less than you would pay for them off a forecourt the day I bought mine, all one after the other before they went onto the next lot which included mine

I dunno, I fix my own car if something goes wrong and I don't lose money on cars so maybe it distorts my outlook on it all

Its one thing buying a 2 year old something or other but most people aint at the auction doing that are they.

Its a much more risky purchase than buying private or from a dealer.

They just offered me £3200 less for my Audi A4 I bought for £9700 2 months ago lol

MW

What exactly did you expect, given you paid dealer retail from a forecourt and they are offering trade money?

I suspect if you go back to the people you bought it off and try and sell it back to them they'd offer you a good chunk less as well!

Honestly, the shock and suprise over stuff like this is astounding.

http://www.sellandbuycar.com/

These lot offered within 5% of what I got on ebay for my old Fabia after spotting it advertised. They came to me to view the car, put in a lower bid on the bay and followed up to check if the listing had gone OK. Small outfit but 2-3x what WBAC were offering.

I'd have been happy to sell to them if I'd got a non-paying bidder. In the end - it was so close I'd have made more money if I'd just sold to them in the first place and not had to pay the ebay sale fee.

Pick up any local paper and ring any of the "used cars for cash" adverts and you will get a semi decent trade bid, its going to be better than we buy any car and also less hassle because they will come to you.
