Do you really think they are not feeling guilt and remorse for what has happened as a consequence of their actions? They will have to live with that on their conscience for the rest of their lives.

Personally I think they were wreckless and brought it on themselves by leaving their child unsupervised like they did, but I dont believe they actually wanted her to be kidnapped.

Neglect, the rest of their kids should have been taken into care and they should have been charged with child abandenment/neglect. It would not come as a suprise if the PPS are building a case agianst them but are holding back on the of chance Madeleine could show up.

If they were neglecting their kids all the time in other ways then I would agree but they've neglected them once and which led to an unfortunate outcome, putting the kids in care and taking them away from their family would not be the right thing to do imo, the kids will have a much better life with their family

I would argue that the other children certainly can't be the centre of family attention when their parents are devoting themselves to this (most likely) futile hunt, leaving them exposed to the media (or at least certain parts of the public) for the rest of their lives.

One night of bad parenting seems to have provoked several year's worth of bad parenting imho.

If the McCann's really did off their kid, surely the last thing they'd want to do is constantly try to continue/raise awareness of the "search" for her? I mean, it's only going to make it more likely that they get found out, isn't it? :confused:

But that's the point, they don't live by that. They purposely try to get any negative press buried and get injunctions forcing the press not to report anything that goes against their story. I agree, and have said such in this thread ,any exposure is good exposure and could help find the child (if she is still alive/intact). However the family don't agree with this and feel that their version of events is the only true one and anything else is liable and slander.
That is the odd part, their almost fundamentalist view that no one can know what happened apart from them.

Just screams strange to me. I dont want to think they had any part in her going missing but if tomorrow it came out they had....it wouldnt surprise me.

There is just "something" about the whole thing that feels very off to me.

It amuses me that people will merrily lay into groen, magick and all the other mentalists about their conspiracy theories about who's out to get them, which government is up to what, which aliens blew up the Twin Towers, etc, but will then absolutely straightfacedly assert that they know better than the police forces of two nations who have spent considerable time investigating the disappearance of a child.
