I'd like to think Spurs would keep them both on in coaching roles. That depends on them wanting to continue playing but I'm sure keeping them on a player / coach role would be a good move.
Why do people automatically assume players will make good coaches, they can do, MOST don't end up as good coaches though.
Its such an easy thing to say, King is massively over rated, as often are so many players out injured a lot, it becomes a case of remember the best games then think how games would have gone if he played at his best all the time instead of being injured.
Did Adam's, a catagorically better defender than King has ever looked, become the best defensive coach or manager in the world? Not even close, and this guy was a born leader on the pitch, and a ridiculously good defender.
A top 6 club should really have top of their game coaches for every role if they really want to be serious.
Should Spurs really have Sherwood and Ferdinand as their coaches as it is? Have the strikers all been on top form with ex player Ferdinand, with zero coaching ability, as their coach? Do they really want to have a vast array of ex players with no coaching ability on staff?
I find the throw away comment of "I hope they stay after and coach" ridiculous.
Again most players don't end up being good coaches, a huge number of the best managers around were fairly average or rubbish players....... completely different skill sets.
