Agree, just hope people aren't pegging our future on the lucas/spearing mf combo, 5th-7th is the best those 2 will get us.

I wouldn't be overly keen on Spearing be anything more than a bit part player but Lucas has been excellent for the past 18 months. Against Chelsea, Utd, City and even to an extent against Arsenal, he bossed the midfield and is getting better and better.

I would guess that a pairing of Lucas and Gerrard will be the first choice next season with Meireles (also providing an option further forward), a new CM and Spearing providing cover.

I don't think it is a case of Forlan not being good enough to get in the Ath. Madrid team but he has fallen out with the hierarchy there hasn't he?

If thats the case, the fact he couldn't trap and control a beach ball, let alone a football, at the moment isnt going to be doing his stock much good.

Teams are also going to have to move fast for their targets becasue as soon as clubs get a wif of real or city intrest prices are going to go through the roof.

I doubt it, man city will be linked to every man and his dog. Any club that decides to raise their asking price on the basis of this will just not find a buyer, thus making £0.

If city genuinely want a player and enquire and place a bid then maybe, but until then I wouldn't worry.

I would absolutely love arsenal to buy Hargreaves and him suddenly be fit and fantastic... would be hilarious... although really rather unlikely :P

Anyone else heard the rumour that Arsenal want Hargreaves? Massive LOLZ at that one :D

Well Wenger is a complete moron and we did pay for Silvestre's pension plan.

Meh, maybe Wengers last ditch tactic to beat Utd is to buy as many ex Utd players as possible and get all Fergie's training secrets. Of course that would be Wenger trying something new which doesn't sound like Wenger at all.

The Independent has us going for Scott Parker. Would be a great signing if it meant the departure of Denilson and/or Diaby. The numbers would remain the same, wages possibly too considering how for some reason both of those players earn a lot, but the quality would be substantially better. Rosicky too, as the article explains could be one to leave. Never doubted his quality but he's not the guy we signed years ago prior to WC 2006.

He'd be a good senior player for Wilshere and Ramsey to learn from as well.

I'd have thought the likelihood of anyone signing Sanchez will be partly dependent on whether Udinese can make the Champions League. They only need a draw in their last game now, so that would make it seem less possible.

Not forgetting that he could obviously triple his wage at Man City, if he so wanted.
