I thought we only ever offered £25m when we agreed the two year loan deal? Whatever actually happened I think we can see that Tevez is quite a difficult player to manage.
Or a ****.

My thinking exactly. We knew how much it would cost to buy him as we had agreed a fee with his advisor(s). We just decided not to. There was plenty of times and plenty of "Fergie sign him up" chants from the OT faithful.I dont believe they ever did. If they did i think it was only after it was clear he was leaving or it was part of a package he would never accept.
If they had wanted him there was ample time for "Fergie Fergie" to "sign him up" and he chose not to. Its not a coincidence that we let him go despite the idea being we couldnt afford him.
I hated Tevez in his second season. He was angling for a move in the press in the exact same way he is doing now with City. Some of his statements (not in English obviously) were pish. I was chuffed when he left, tbh in the long run City will be better off without him. He was a symbol of of point they needed to make at the time to Utd. It didnt work.
Yeah.Or a ****.
Yeah.I wanted to describe him in a way that would make through the forum's profanity filter.

"Following contact received from Carlos Tevez's advisers last night, in advance of the deadline the club set for concluding negotiations, Manchester United announces that Carlos will not be signing a new contract with the club," said a statement released by United this morning. "The club agreed to pay the option price of £25.5m and offered Carlos a five-year contract which would have made him one of its highest-paid players.
"Disappointingly, however, his advisers informed the club that, despite the success he has enjoyed during one of the club's most successful periods, he does not wish to continue playing for Manchester United. The club would like to thank Carlos for his services over the last two seasons and wishes him good luck for the future."
This is what I meant by my statement Cas, I wasn't being sarcastic but whilst Tevez is an excellent player he is just way too much trouble. Utd didn't want him and it seems that City either don't know how to handle him or don't handle him the way he wants to be handled and he's off for another club.
You agreed the option when you initially loaned him and the club admitted you took up the option but Tevez rejected:

I didn't realise we actually offered him a deal. You agreed the option when you initially loaned him and the club admitted you took up the option but Tevez rejected:
No, I was't trying to say that he wasn't good enough or worth having. He was, and is, an excellent striker. I remember Fergie/Gill saying there were better options for less money than Tevez would have cost. I.e. they could have bought someone for £15m and saved £10m.[Cas];19186780 said:I agree that he's a complete ****. But your post read in a way that they were glad to be shut of him because he wasn't good enough/worth having. Probably the way I read it though. Hey-ho.![]()
I think now I would be surprised if Fergie feels vindicated in not having actually signed Tevez on a permanent deal.![]()
Owen? Michael "Oops there goes my hamstring. Again" Owen? Michael "one game in two hundred minutes of league football" Owen? Really?
Yeah, that one.
Since Jeffers left we've been missing the 'fox in the box', Owen has great positioning. I get really frustrated seeing attacks that fizzle out because we don't always have players making runs into dangerous areas. Plus he has the right passport and will have got accustomed to a 'pay as you play' deal at MU. His experience could come in handy, and I just rate him above Bendtner as a striker.
A real toughie that one!As of today would you take Hernandez and his attitude with us or Tevez and his attitude with City? By hook or by crook that the situation we are in now!
A real toughie that one!![]()
I would hope we keep Hernandez for a little longer than that.Well think about it cos in a year or two the UK press will be offering up Hernandez to the Spanish clubs just like they did with Ronaldo!
On the plus side Tevez will be doing very well in the Egyptian league as its "closer to his family" who still live in Argentina......
I would hope we keep Hernandez for a little longer than that.
I've heard rumours that Tevez will go to Australia. It starts with an A so that'll keep him happy.![]()
